Hi Moms,
My daughter is turning 2 April 1st. I have no clue where in the city is a good place to have a second birthday party. I can't have it at my house because it might already be sold or there might be showings. I hopeing for the first one. Anyway last year we had her first birthday party back in our home town in Michigan. I really don't want to have to go that route again this year. If you could please just give me any location ideas I would really appreciate it.
Thank you!

there are several great venues. i don't know where in the city you are, but gymboree has great parties. they do the setup/cleanup and have activities planned according to which theme you choose. you do have to bring in your own food, but my son had a blast at the party we went to. the little gym, my gym--they do similar parties. my son is turning two next month and his party will be at pied piper parties----everything is taken care of for you! all i had to do was give them my guest list and pick a theme (anything you want) and they do the rest. and i mean they do everything---make and mail out the invites, provide the food/drinks, activities, make the goody bags and provide the cake. www.piedpiperparties.com
check it out..
good luck!
pick some place easy like little ceasers or chuck e cheese, they do all the work and the clean up.
I would echo the Gymboree location. We are having my sons there is a few weeks. We just went to a party at Lou Malnatis and that was great.
McDonald's does parties that are reasonably priced. There are venues like Corner Playroom in the city that are also available. When I was researching my daughter's 2nd bday party a couple of months ago I found that the Thomas the Tank stores (Oak Brook Center and elsewhere) were very reasonably priced for cake, goodies and activities - much moreso than the Children's museum in Oak Park or Gymboree or My Gym or those types of places (all options as well). Just some ideas - good luck!
Fantasy Kingdom is fun. I have also been to parties at The Little Gym and Gymboree that were fun. Good luck!
It depends what you want but if you are tight on money you may want to look into the YMCA - I don't know if they rent out rooms but I do know the JCC does. I have been to a few parties like that. I'll bet it comes out cheaper to do it there. You of course would have to do the planning but they'd do the clean up. That's the main advantage. If not, also, Kohl's Museum in Glenview does parties but I don't know how much they cost. Gymboree is gonna be great but its costly, that's for sure! If its warm out by then you could do a party with some assistance from other parents or family members at a park and then you have little clean up plus you can do physical activities or games which the little ones love. Just a thougt, don't know what's most practical for you. Good luck! Oh, also you could check with your church or synagogue to see if they rent out rooms as well. Good luck, G..
For my child's party I rented out a hall and got a cartoon character, like back then the thing that was out was the telly tubbies the children really enjoyed that.
