ok so im 95% sure i have food poisoning. i had terrible stomach cramps/pains last night, and started having diarheaa and dry heaving (couldnt get anything up besides a little bile), im exhausted, i called in (boss isnt too happy oh well) because everytime i turn around im rushing to the toilet. woke up throughout the night rushing to the toilet, my husband was throwing up too but no diarheaa that hes told me about. thats why i think its food poisoning. we bought hormel chili with no beans for chili dogs and only we ate it, our son just wanted a hot dog (no we dont usually eat hot dogs for dinner, just had a craving for them) so im thinking that was what got us sick. i do have a dr appt later today (its 0540 right now) just wanted to know if there is anything i can take to make me feel better? or should i call the dr wen his office opens and try to get in earlier?

What can I do next?

I would call now.

If you have vomiting and diarrhea they are NOT going to want you in the office. You have no way of knowing if it's food poisoning or a nasty tummy bug and the last thing they would want is that spread to their office. She/he will probably tell you to head to labor and delivery to be monitored and given fluids so you don't dehydrate and start contracting.

make sure not to get too dehydrated! That exact thing happened to me at about 36 weeks (only with bad chinese) and I ended up in the hospital for a few hours getting rehydrated and watching Dr. Who. I was also having contractions so they were monitoring me to make sure all the vomiting and diarrhea didnt kick me into labor.

You need to be careful not to get dehydrated -- even if you are puking and have diarrhea. I suggest water or maybe gatorade if it gets that bad. See your doc and maybe see if they can get you in earlier.

I had food poisoning with my first (currently on #3) -- diarrhea and vomitting about 12 hours. Forget what I ate at this point. Not fun!

Good luck.

Call your Dr, I would call right away. He will call you back and if you need to get in early they should be able to fit you in.

Natural remedy, settles the stomach, works in military and Boy Scouts. Start a fire using wood, mash charcoal and ash into powder when cool, add drops of water till a paste and swallow.
