Hi Moms,

I am looking for a good Preschool for next year(my son will be 4). We currently go to one in Elmhurst but would like to be closer to home if possible. We live in Lombard!

Thanks!

What can I do next?

Try the Co-op at The first Church of Lombard. At the corner of Main and Maple. My first son went there for the three year old program. Excellent teachers. My second son is currently going to Madison, but he needs speech therapy but it is a blended program and is really good also.

I know the Co-op is having an open house soon. If you would like to email me then I can find out the info. Open enrollment is in March I believe and fills up quickly.

We live in Glen Ellyn and cannot say enough about the preschool program at St. James the Apostle on Park Blvd. (between Roosevelt and Butterfield). This is our second year and the teacher is amazing (as is her aide)! We had not really considered sending to Catholic school, but after our preschool experience here, we are strongly considering it. Best of luck in your search!!

Check your school district, Lombard currently has a tuition based program located at Madison school.

We absolutely love The Growing Place in Lombard. It uses space at Community Presbyterian Church on Madison. It has been there for 33 years. There are three classrooms, the oldest being the 4/5 year old classroom. My oldest daughter is currently in there and we are very happy. An average day covers reading, math (ex: greater than / less than), science (ex: making snow), art & play. They also have two class pets that they learn to care for (fish and gerbil). There are also plenty of ways to volunteer in the classroom, but it is not required. It runs from 9 to 12. They do not host open houses, as they get all their students through word of mouth. The director, Lisa Elder, is wonderful. The 4/5 classroom has 3 options (although Lisa is VERY flexible if you desire a unique schedule & the space allows).... MWF 9-12, T/TH 9-12, MWF 12:30 to 3. You can also do full day MWF if needed. Hope this helps!!!!!
