I have a 5 month old girl and she is teething I think, don't see any signs of the bottom ones which I knew came in first, but you can see the top two front teeth plan as day in her gums, is this normal for the top 2 to errupt first? not sure if these will break before any others but sure looks that way, she has been drooling a ton, spitting up more, red checks and a slight fever, I didn't have this issue with my first as she didnt teeth until over 12 months old

What can I do next?

Every child is different. My daughter who is now 7 got her top teeth in first, they were also the first baby teeth she lost when she got her permanent teeth.

My son Evan started teething early as well and he got his top front 2 first and then the bottom outer two next. We had a very Jack O lantern looking little boy for Halloween but the rest came in fine and are near perfect.
Good luck!

Hi C.,
My daughter got her teeth early as well, she was just 5 months old. Her bottom two came in first and the top two where basically there as well but came through a few days later. I had a lot of questions when my daughters teeth came so early and everone told me this was normal and not to worry. Every baby gets teeth at different times and in different places, a girlfiend of mine has a 10 month daughter, her first teeth that came through where her canine teeth, so she looked like a cute little vampire! Good luck with those cute chompers!

All babies do not go by the norm so it's no big deal that her 2 top front are comming in first. My son's top side came in first. The average baby gets their 2 bottom first.

Hi C.~All babies get their teeth in differently. My daughter didn't get teeth till almost eight months. My son on the other hand got his first tooth at three months old. If her top teeth do come in first I would not be worried about it. But if you do have questions seek out a pediatric dentist and they would be able to tell you if you should worry. I don't think you do! Good luck with all of the kids and have a blessed day!

It's not uncommon for some kids to get their top teeth before the bottom. The standard way MOST kids get them in (which isn't to say every kid does this, and it's okay if they don't), is the front 4 in some order, then the 4 incisors in some order.

My son got his top two fronts in first, then bottom 2, then the bottom incisors, top incisors, And the first molars on both tops and bottoms. He still has no bicuspids as of yet, and he's 18 months old :) The doctors don't worry as long as they're coming in.
