Hi All!
This has been ongoing for a year now. Have been to the doctor and have had urine tests which came back clean. Then doctor advised to put her on a mild dose of a stool softener... said some kids rush while going number 2, which might put pressure on bladder..did that, no changes. Next step advised was MRI of the abdomen. Haven't scheduled yet... Just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this before??? Thanks!

What can I do next?

My almost 4 year old is going thru the same thing! She complains about peeing all the time and told me once it was hot down there and seemed to be in pain sometimes. Thought for sure she had a UTI but urine cultures came back negative. Am waiting to hear back from having her retested. If this comes back neg also her ped said we may have to take her to a urologist. Am curious to hear if you find anything out.

This is most likely an Adrenal gland problem.

Poly urea.

It can fall under the header"cushings disease" which is over production of cortisol hormone from adrernals.

Over the years, as the syndrome progresses, there will be :

*diabetes,and blood sugar regulation problems,
*excess Sodium retention
*usually a potassium deficiency
*usually a magnesium deficiency.

*low AHD (anti diuretic hormone)-there is not enough of the hormone and bladder overfills
*Low estrogen

The proof that this is an adrenaline problem: When dogs have urinary incontinence, they give them the drug Phenypropanoleamine. This drug releases adrenaline from the adrenal gland.
The herb MA huang" is used for bladder problems. It increases adrenaline release which reduces urine output.
These are used for bladder problems, it is not coincidence that adreal patients use them too:

Cayenne
dandiloin
horsetail
lemon balm

Is your daughter complaining, uncomfortable, in pain? Or does she just go to the bathroom a lot? Does she drink a lot of liquids? Before you go and schedule some scarey thing that a six year old will remember for ever...think about all of those. I always went to the bathroom a lot, still do and sometimes that is the way our bodies are. Of course if the above occurs, she is in pain, she cries when she goes to the bathroom, then of course get her quickly to the doctor again. But if that is uniquely her, then just warn the teachers and go with it. We are simply not all alike.

I agree with trying less scaring/expensive testing first. Another thought is to have her evaluated by a pediatric chiropractor. May sound weird, but they exist and have been very helpful with my youngest. Anyway, I began seeing a chiropractor many years ago after an accident (for headaches). Not only did my headaches improve over time, I noticed that when it was getting close to my appt time I needed to pee more often, and always felt the urge to go. If the nerves that connect your bladder and brain are irritated or compressed in some way (even slightly), it can cause frequent urination and a frequent urge to go. I never really identified it as a problem for me, but chiropractic helped.

Sorry for the random addition, but just in case, I wanted to pass it on. Good luck!!

Sometimes frequent urination can be a sign of diabetes, so you may want to look into that.

I would try eliminating milk products for a couple of weeks and see if that helps. She may have a little intolerance to dairy that doesn't show up as an allergy. You could also try eliminating all forms of dairy, but lots of times just getting rid of the milk helps.

Liz A. is on the right track. It very well could be a food intolerance. My son has frequent urination (and sometimes frequent BM's) when he eats tomatoes or citrus. It could be anything in her diet so you need to examine it closely and look at things she eats on a regular basis as being possible culprits.
