Call you OBGYN in the a.m. and see if you she can call you in Tamaflu (the drug that helps you keep from getting the flu, and lessens it if you do get it). I think you can take it if prego, but I don't remember for sure.
Otherwise, wash your hands and use Purell constantly. Use disposable cups, plates, forks, etc for those who are sick and use paper towels to dry hands vs towels.
Hello A.,
I hope you don't have the flu. just to add to the other ladies' comments.... wash you hands every hour on the hour... (well, you know what I mean)... desinfect light switches, doornobs, faucet handles, fridge handle, car steering wheel, phones, remote controls, etc.
drink plenty of vitamin C, something like 'emergen-c' to boost your immune system. maybe drink elderberry or chamomile/echinacea tea (natural antivirals). get plenty of rest (I know, easier said than done....)
use essential oils to clean the air in your house. for example put 5 drops clove oil on a tissue (put it in a small glass bowl so the oil does not ruin any furniture) and just let it fill the air. Also, lavender oil can be used the same way. They use lavender oil to 'sanitize' the air in some european hospitals.
Good luck! ~C.~
whole foods has some natural flu remedies. go get some and then call your doctor and read the ingredients to him/her before you take it.
The best thing you can do for yourself and unborn child is get the flu vaccine. You are considered high risk because you are pregnant and it is highly recommended for pregnant woman. Lots of Vitamin C until you are able to get your vaccine. I work for an ob/gyn and we have had quiet a bit of patients admitted with Influenza.
Hi there!! I would call your OB and let them know that you have been exposed. They will prb want you to call them with the first sign so they can stay on top of it for your and the babys well being....drink a lot of OJ and wash your hands!
Hope you don't catch it and congrats on the new baby coming soon!!
