A.: have you tried to use two diapers at night put a small hole in the first one then put another one over top of it. When I was a teenager my neighbor did that with her son and daughter and it always worked.
My 8 month old daughter has been peeing through her diaper every night. She is a stomach sleeper. She is in size 2, swaddlers. Last night I bought some size 3, cruisers thinking maybe she needs a bigger diaper to last till the morning. This morning she peed through her diaper again. This has been a problem for a couple weeks now. Changing the sheets and washing her clothes every day is getting tiresome. Please let me know if you have any suggestions - thanks!
Thank you all SOOOO much for the advice. I bought some Huggies Overnight diapers (size 3) and for two nights she has woken up in the morning without leaks :) Thanks again!

Have you tried Huggies Overnights? I like those sooo much better for the night time. Also, try to give her a little less to drink before bed, that helps too - although not always able to be done.

Sometimes it's not just that the baby is to big for the diaper. It may mean trying a different BRAND of diaper. good Luck!
we used swaddlers and cruisers too, until we had that problem. we continued to use the cruisers during the day, but used huggies overnights at night... it was exactly what you're talking about-- stomach sleeper and the pee would soak the front of her jammies and the bed. the huggies overnights fixed it! normally i'm not a huggies fan because of all things, they would leak when she was little... these saved our sheets and my sanity! good luck!

what brand are you using? I found out the only diapers I could use for my kids when they were babies, was Huggies and Luvs. I didn't try Pampers because I couldn't afford them, or find coupons for them. But store brands never did work very well.
Here are two suggestions from a friend that had the same problem. First, just before bedtime, put your daughter in a warm bath which will most likely make her pee. Sometimes my friend would sit her daughter on a folded towel while she ran the water and she would pee while the water was running! Then she put on a diaper one size larger (that she only used at night) then she would put on a larger 'pull-up' type diaper over the regular diaper. Eventually her daughter stopped overflowing the diaper all together! Good Luck!
Hi A.,
Try Diaper Doublers, an inexpensive alternative to the expensive nighttime diapers. You can find them at Babies R Us or Toys R Us. My son has been using them for 5 months now. He is 2.2 years old. He sleeps on average 12-14 hours per night. We rarely have a leak. And if we do, it is usually because he had too much to drink right before bed.
Good Luck!

I was having the same problem with my dd, who is also a belly sleeper. I found that Huggies Overnights work great. The smallest size they come in though, is size 4. They do run a little small because she normally wears a Pampers size 3. She hasn't peed through one of these yet and we've been using them for almost 2 months.
Hi A.,
We have used something called Diaper Doublers sold at Babies R Us where I live. They are pretty cheap at about 2.80 ish for 30 of them. They just go inside a regular overnight diaper or any diaper if you think it could be extra long before you can get to a change, like a long car ride, etc. But they essentially look like a female pad. They work for us.
Good luck,
D.
Does she seem to drink a lot? Have you tried not letting her have anything 2 hours before bedtime?
My 5 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with Diabetes and they said that some symptoms easily missed are being very thirsty, wetting in the night and irritation. For peace of mind, it wouldn't take anything to check with your doctor. Sadly, even very young children out of the blue get sick.
Good luck!
I have been told that some moms double up the diapers, or place a cloth liner inside the disposable. Also, you could try catching the midnight pee....meaning she may be going twice and sleeping through the first wet, then the second wet she overflows...you may try to change her in the middle of the night.
We had this problem back when our now 5 yr old twins were in diapers. I used to change their diaper around 11pm when I went to bed. Fortunately for us they were good sleepers and slept through this. Hope this helps!
They make onernight diapers and I used them for my kids. I think they are made by Huggies and they work very well. Hope this helps.
try using Pampers Baby Dry diapers for night time. They are more absorbent. That's what we used and never had any problems. By the way, I LOVE being a mom as well and I can tell you that it only gets better as they get older!!!
Buy the next size bigger of diapers and use them only at bedtime.
Like the other moms have said HIGGIES OVERNIGHTS. They work well for us. I think they start at size 4 (but they seem to run small so they are actually like a 3). I also have a girl stomach sleeper and have found that as suggested below, wearing a onsie helps alot!! Also try not to have 2 pieces PJ's. My daughter always leaks when we put her in them.
Good luck and hope you have less laundry!

Hi A.,
I agree with the other mom on the Huggies brand. I had the same problem with my son, and these seemed to work the best at controlling leaks.
have you tried using a different brand other than is it Huggies? I had a similar problem but once I found the diaper that fit her well it stopped. Is it possible to change her in her sleep? Some babies can sleep through it. Good luck
I believe Huggies makes a diaper for overnight. I know many friends who had the same problem and said these helped a ton. Hope things get better.
You might try cutting back on her liquids at night. My daughter did the same thing and I had to get up and change her during the night. It is just one of the phases they go through.
I like Pampers Baby Dry, they seem to work on my little guys! Good luck!
I don't know, but maybe two diapers???!!!
I had this same problem with my daughter at that age. What worked for us was using the bigger diapers and also putting her in a onesie to sleep. For some reason it keeps the diaper closer to the body and it leaks less. I think that you can also buy inserts that slip into the diaper that help absorb more moisture, although I'm not sure where you could find them. You could also try cutting the center out of a cloth diaper and inserting it into her diaper. Good luck! Once she stops taking a bottle or nursing at bedtime you won't have to worry as much.
what about using a diaper cover, used for potty training.
We had the same problem withour son when he was little. What we ended up doing was put a pull-up over the diaper, and that seemed to help. Since then, I saw an insert that looks kind of like a large sanitary pad that you put inside the diaper to absorb more urine. I saw them at Babies R Us, near where they keep the diapers. If I have that problem in the future, that is what I am going to use. I hope that helps!
My son pees through his diaper all the time, too. The best diaper I have found are Huggies Overnites. I still have to get right to him in the morning, but usually his bed stays dry. Good luck.
A., I have found Pampers Baby Dry to be more absorbent. My 7 month old is in size 4 baby dry right now. Cruisers are more for moving around in the advanced crawling and walking stages.
Also, make sure you are getting the diaper snug. Not too tight, of course.
Good luck!

My daughter had the same problem. The only diapers I found that will hold everything at night are Huggies brand and even then there were still leaks sometimes but not as often as with any other brand.
Yep, Huggies Overnights! They are the ones!

Hi. My son did that around that same age. I did a few things. First, I moved him up a diaper size, which you have done. Then we started giving him less to drink late at night. I think at 8 months, he was sleeping through the night from 9pm until 6 or 7am. So he got his last feeding around 8 and we changed him one last time right before we laid him down. Also, I tied on a separate pee pad over his sheets so I wouldn't have to change the whole crib when it did happen. I hope this helps & good luck!
Hi A.,
I remembered responding to a similar question a few months ago. Check out:

My son did the same thing when he was in diapers. I too got tired of washing sheets and wet jammies! =0) We finally just "foot the bill" and bought Huggies Overnights and they worked terrific. The diaper is just super absorbent and lasted all night long with no leaks. It's kind of annoying buying two different kinds of diapers, but it was worth it to us. Now he's two and totally potty trained, so it doesn't last forever! Good luck. =0)
When my son got older i started using the Huggies supreme they where the best fo him at night time also try changing her diaper right before you yourself go to bed
Try the overnight diapers and depending on how they fit I'd look at staying in the larger size...sometimes neither size seems to fit perfectly when they're in transition to the larger size and leaks just happen. Have drinks early in the evening and slowly get her to a point where she's not having milk or water before bed or throughout the night. My son peed through his diapers at night for a while and then he grew out of it. I think it was a combination of things.
We also got a couple of soft waterproof bedding pads (large size...that nearly cover the mattress). We'd put one in the area our son usually slept in (on top of the sheet). This usually allowed us to just wash the pad and not have to change crib sheets every day (such a pain).
Stick with it - I expect this won't last forever. Good luck!
I was also going to suggest Huggies Overnights. It's the only disposable that had worked for either of my kids overnight. Also, with my daughter we currently use cloth pocket diapers and just double the insert - I've heard hemp works best but we just use the inserts that came with the bumGenius!
Good luck!
Try Pampers Baby Dry. They are a little more expensive, but they hold so much pee!
i have been having the same problem. huggies makes an overnight diaper in a size 3. it is more absorbent and works pretty well. it is sometimes hard to find them though. good luck!
I would have guessed the bigger diaper would have helped... how much are you giving her to drink close to her bedtime? Perhaps you could give her some more earlier and cut back closer to bed?
Another thing you might consider while this is being worked out- have you tried sheet savers? These are strips of material padding that tie to the crib- if you can predict where she will sleep you can put them under her and hopefully not have to change the entire sheet set. You can buy them or just fold up an old receiving blanket and tuck it under the bed tightly- this may help save some sheets and less laundry for you. Good luck!
You might want to try Huggies Overnights. My frined was having the same problem with her son and found that he never leaked out of the Overnights. Apparently Huggies have more paddinging in the front (it reaches all the way up the front of the diaper) than Pampers. Since your daughter is a stomach sleeper, that may solve the problem. Hope that helps.
I had the same problem with my twin girls. I put them in the Huggies Overnite diapers. They start at size 3. It has seemed to do the job...so far. We might have a leak every now and then, but it is rare. I hope this helps! I've been there. The washing clothes and sheets everyday was tiresome x2!
Buy a sheet saver you can get them anywhere. That way you can just chnage her without changing the whole bed. My daughter is 4 now and I bought somethign from the medical supply store because she still has accidents.
We had that exact problem with the swaddlers as well, though at an earlier age. We decided to try some other diapers to see if that might help. We tried Luvs (which are quite a bt cheaper too) and haven't had that problem since. I can't say enough good things about Luvs. I always thought Pampers were the best. They are not, just more expensive. Our daughter sleeps 12-13 hours a night, on her stomach, and we have not had the problem of the urine leaking through or out since we switched.
We've done cruisers during the day and Huggies Overnights at night for over a year (I've got a big night-wetter too!!)
We've had a few leaks with them, but only when he was sick and I was giving lots of fluids and nursing alot.
I am having the same issue with my 2 year old!
First of all I would buy some sheet savers.....they tie on the crib rails and act like a pad underneath the baby. That way you don't have to change the sheet...just the pad. My neighbors had this problem with their babies....they used sanitary pads and put them on the inside of the diaper where they were leaking to help absorb more. I think their son was leaking in the back so they put one at the top of the diaper in the back.....hope this helps!!!!
have you tried changing brands of diapers? Some brands hold more than others. Huggies was great when my kids were in diapers. (I haven't had to buy diapers in years, so I don't know what all are available these days.)
Another thought... put her diaper on backwards at night since she sleeps on her tummy. this gives more coverage where needed.
Hi A.. Have you asked your baby's Dr. about this? It seems to me like there may be something going on that can easily be fixed. Good luck!
Try Huggies overnights. They are great!
I use Huggies Overnights also for my little one, and they work really well. I also agree that they're a bit hard to find in a smaller size, but worth it if you can find them. Good luck :-)
Hi A. -- my son went through the same thing when he was around 8 months (he's 13 months now)! He did eventually outgrow it, but in the meantime, I would sneak in before I went to sleep and change his diaper one last time. I would just keep him in his crib and asleep, and get it done as quick as possible! At least I had less laundering to do then!
Otherwise, I think you will just have to let it run its course! Good Luck!
Have you considered cloth diapers? They are super easy and I have a heavy night wetter too. I use a lot of hemp which is highly absorbant without the chemicals in diaposables. Let meknow if I can help.
