remember; babies under a year old dont really need solids for nutrition. focus on just making sure baby nurses/bottle feeds on demand to get all that she needs! :)
You would think I would have this down by now having three kiddos but alas here I am...lol My 8 month old is pushing out her top 4 (poor thing) teeth :( she pushed out her first two bottom teeth at 6 months old. Did really well with those and now for the last 3 to 4 weeks she has been working on her top four. The top left two are poking out and the middle right just started to poke out. She is miserable. Waking up multiple times at night...nighttime wakings arn't my bother although annoying...lol but she has not had solids now for 3 weeks. She was doing good at them for a while would get excited to see them but now she just clamps her mouth shut and wont have anything to do with them. I still offer them to her but no willingness on her part as far as eating them. My first two pushed out their bottoms at 7.5 months and did do anymore teeth until 13 mo so I am not use to so many at such a young age. My other two where well into eating solids before they had the pain of the upper teeth. So how long do I give her. what can I do to convince her to eat. I am not for forcing them in her mouth. I have tried all the silly/goofy mommy things. The train, making her laugh, along with other things that I sure hope nobody had a camera on them to record...lol But no luck. Is this common, will she after she gets these teeth out enjoy eating again. She eats/nurses healthy, has no issues with weight, she is obviously in pain so I understand but since I have never dealth with this before I thought I would ask.
On that note with curiousity since we never had such early teethers what do you do with nighttime. Most of the time we can get her back to sleep without nursing. She slept throught the night from 3 mo to 6.5 months from 8-7 before this all happened and now she wakes ever 4ish hours. I have a feeling she will go back to sleeping through the night when the pain subsides. (I can't imagine doing four at once as I just had a wisdom tooth come in and that was NO fun!) We do however have to pick her up and rock her back to sleep but since we know she is capable of soothing herself back to sleep other times we don't worry too much about it but maybe we should. I don't know. I am not worried about lack of sleep although it is rough going back to newborn sleep...haha. Tis the life of being a mommy :)
Any ideas or thoughts what you maybe did with your early teether would be apreciated.

Solids are mostly for practice, not nourishment, in the first year of life. My LO refused solids until he ws 8.5 months, and then slowly worked his way up to eating 3 meals a day (now at 14 months he eats constantly!). As long as you're nursing plenty, I wouldn't worry as much about the solids. Just keep offering solids at meal time, and I'm sure once she's feeling better she'll be fine. In fact, my 14 m/o recently had a bad ear infection and wouldn't eat much for over a week. His dr said not to stress about it since he's getting everything he needs from the breastmilk, and once he's ready, he'll start back up on solids.
I HIGHLY recommend baltic amber to help with teething pains. My LO has been wearing it since about 8 months old, and it makes a huge difference!!! It doesn't take away all the pain, but it definitely helps! www.inspiredbyfinn.com has more info on this. My LO wears it all the time, except for baths. If I forget to put it back on him, I notice a big difference (and his reflux starts flaring up if he's not wearing it).
I can't help with the sleeping. My LO still wakes up 2-4 times a night. I will pick him up to comfort him, and sometimes I do nurse him back to sleep. Many on here will tell you to CIO, but it doesn't work for all babies. It did for my ODS, does NOT for YDS (we've tried). When LO's aren't feeling good (sick, teething, growth spurts, changes, etc) I don't think that's a good time to let them CIO. My LO went for months before we got him on the right meds for his reflux, then teething was an issue, and growth spurts... So even though many will recommend CIO, don't think you have to (unless you want to). You know what works for you and your baby better than anyone else:)
It's been along time but I would hold off on the solid food a few days and let her nurse. Once she starts to feel better I would bring out the solid foods. How about a few teething biscuits for her? They might just do the trick and help break those teeth through the gums. I feel for you but it will be over soon. Can you find a teething ring of something for her to chew on that might help as well?
My hugs to you.

Anytime my son got teeth, he'd stop eating for about a week while they came through. I just continued to offer regular food and let him drink as he needed to. I wouldn't offer a bottle, if she's drinking more, though. You don't want that to become a comfort thing. Maybe use sippy's instead if she's drinking extra formula or milk.
For the night, sorry. Teething never kept my son up. We'll see how my daughter goes. I'm a few months away from that yet.
