My husband and I like to try to give each other traditional anniversary gifts. The 8th is bronze and pottery, and I'm stumped on what to give him. Anyone have any ideas?

What can I do next?

Is he a beer drinker? You can get a pottery beer stein. If you get lucky you might find one with a bronze plated design on it. Look online for one in your family crest or his initials.

you can usually find bronze plated memorials and figurines. Say, if you honey mooned in Hawaii, you could find a bronze palm tree or if he's a pilot you could get a bronze airplane.

I love pottery! My dear friends make beautiful pottery and their studio is right down the road from my house. I found their website http://www.tokheim-stoneware.com/

We use this pottery every day. We have plates, coffee mugs, wine glasses, water glasses, bowls of all sizes....... it's dishwasher and oven safe and there is something for every price range!

edit* I just looked at their online shop and was SO disappointed. They have so much more in stock in their studio. I am so sorry!

If you have the funds, give him a cruise. If you don't have the money, save it, get passports and enjoy yourself. What does this have to do with brass and pottery? Plenty of it on a cruise ship.

Disney, Princess, Carnival, and Royal Caribbean have fantastic kids programs, so you and your husband can have husband/wife bonding time. Cruises have never been cheaper. Now is the time to book and go.

Good luck to you and yours.

If I were purchasing 8th anniversary bronze and pottery gift for my DH I would seek out an interesting ceramic pot inside I would plant a "wandering Jew" (Tradescantia albiflora) I would also seek out an ornamental bronze colored decoration for inside the pot. I don't have much of a green thumb myself which is why I would choose the wandering Jew. I have always had them in my office at work in my pre-mommie working woman days. They are virtually indestructible-as most men don't have green thumbs either.

Probably sounds cheesy but we usually go out for very nice dinners for celebrations and exchange smaller meaningful gifts.

i know you said traditional, but what about the modern list? We follow either and that year was linen. I bought linen hankies and had them monogramed for him.

For bronze you could take your childs baby shoes and bronze them for a paper weight in his office?
