I suggest not wasting your money on a toddler bed. Buy a twin and push it up against a wall and put a railing on the side, you can get these anywhere.
I am wondering if anyone has some ggod ideas for where to look for our first BIG girl bed. Our daughter is 26 months and is climbing out of the crib. I am looking for a good low to the ground bed for her, possibly white. Any suggestions of what stores to look at for variety and reasonable prices would be greatly appreciated.

I just got my daughter a daybed. We got a extra mattress for underneath for sleepovers etc. So far this is working out great in her room and she loves it. It's also reasonably priced. We bought this second hand but you can find daybeds at most furniture stores. Also if your interested in second hand beds check craigslist. I had my own mattress but didn't want to spend alot of the rest of the bed til I found out if she really liked it.
ikea, ikea, ikea! our son is 34 months and has transitioned from toddler bed to twin bed already. we got the kind of standard "toddler bed" from babies r us, but i wish we'd waited and looked at ikea. they have a great variety of beds that actually can transition into twin beds, and the prices can't be beat. they have terrific bedding, fun canopies/tents and even mattresses if you needed one at great prices too.
good luck!
I have to aggree IKEA is great for the kids room stuff we go there all the time!
