A Good Exercise Bra.

Hellooo there mammas! Ive finally gotten motivated to go with my neighbor to the Y and do dance aerobics and elliptical. It was so fun!! My lil one is 5 1/2 months now and we are still nursing (go me!) but I am very large up top (36 DD) on a 5'3 frame and about 145lbs so lets just say when the aerobics go to the "bouncy" parts I was lil uncomfortable, even though I was wearing a sports bra lol. Any one out there that does dance aerobics and is well endowed in the front? What kind/brand of bra do you buy? I would love to keep up the aerobics, but I need more support before I do that again, thanks!

What can I do next?

Thank you mammas! I never would have thought of the underwire bra and sports bra combo. Im going to try that out while Im looking for a good sports bra. You all are so great xoxo

Okay, I haven't gotten one yet, but all of the reviews are FANTASTIC. Try the UnderArmour "Armour Bra". It's a sports bra, but it is sized EXACTLY by normal bra sizes. (In other words, you would order a 36DD sports bra, not an XL or something.) It IS a bit expensive ($60) but like I said, the reviews are fantastic. Good luck!

I don't know an answer but I am glad I saw this post! It reminded me I need to get another sports bra! Mine is squishing me.

I can't give specific suggestions, but I will say to look at the tags/labels. If you go to a sports store (like Dick's Sporting Goods) and look at the bras there, the tags plainly identify how supportive the bras are intended to be. The ones that look the most comfortable are usually the ones that are for "light" exercise (walking, yoga, etc). Then there is "moderate support" which is more for biking or weight lifting or whatever. I need the strong support ones that specifically say for "running", because otherwise, it is not enough support.

I'd guess that a bouncy aerobics class would require something similar to what I use for running. I'm a C/D cup (depending on if I have gained or lost the pesky 5-7 lbs that come and go) and if I wear anything less supportive than I should, my chest hurts (not my girls, but the chest wall).

I have a couple different favorites (Cuz'she'says'so, & Superlace... both underwire), but there are tons of great ones. Underwire, no underwire, heck! They even have the classic UniBoob style (:P). Go by "barbell" rating for how much support you want.

Also check and see if they have a storefront near you.

I wear a D cup...sports bras just don't do it.

The onlly thing I do that works is to wear a very supportive underwire regular bra with a sports bra over it. The sports bra needs to be pretty snug too.

That's the only way I can work out comfortably without bouncing around.

I do what Sally R does below... regular bra with underwire (nothing too heavy duty) and a sports bra (without underwire) over it.. sounds like too much, but in fact, it works better than any other sports bra I have ever tried..

good luck!
