Hi M.,
I haven't used acupuncture for help with increasing milk supply, but we've gone to the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (in E. Lakeview -- Broadway & Waveland). My husband saw Marie France there, and liked her.
Best,
R.
Hi,
I recently read that acupuncture can increase milk supply. Has any one tried this and had success? If so, can anyone recommend a place in Chicago (preferable on the north side) that does this?
Thanks!

Try calling South Loop Acupuncture. I know they do fertility treatments (Kristine Ward) but not sure on the breastfeeding. I'm sure she'd tell you.

I also just recommend being more hydrated than you think. Drink water while you nurse, after, and throughout the day. This helped me tons!
Good luck and happy feeding :)
I had low milk supply with my first child so tried accupuncture after my second child was born. My milk increased steadily after just one session, and I ended up with more milk than my daughter ever needed.
I went to Christie Jordan at Source Healing. I adore her for many reasons, and she's had issues with low milk supply herself so she'll totally get what you are going through.
Also, be sure to get as much sleep as you can (yeah, right!) and drink A TON of water. Both will help as well.
Good luck!
Flax seed oil also increases breast milk production! Drink 3tablespoons a day in a protein shake and it will also burn fat. Omega fats will also help build your babies brain. I was able to nurse both of my children for almost two years by taking flax oil without supply issues. I honestly that's why they never get sick. They are 8 and 11 now and I still take flax oil every day.
