Ugh, I so know what you are going through. I had to take my daughter out of daycare because she was literally sick for 4 months straight and I hated to put her, and me, through it. After her second bout with pink eye (and mine) and an upper respitory infection, croup twice (and two trips to the ER) three ear infections, and I was done. I tried everything too....no sugar, washing her hands regularly (even would use sanitizer if no bathroom) nightly baths, enough rest, etc. and nothing worked. What really bothered me is when I would go to pick up/drop off my daughter and I would clearly see kids sick (coughing, runny noses) and they were just passing it back and forth. Because we all have to work, you can't afford to not go, so sick kids being there was the norm. You may have no other choice then to find an in home child care provider, or a regular sitter at your home. It'll be cheaper (by almost half!) and your child will be healthier, as well as you! I did and we have not been sick once since I pulled her out of daycare back in August. seriously, within a few days she was well again and has not even had a sniffle since! Good luck!
