I love my mimi maternity bra; light padding - I bought one in Black and like it so much I bought one in tan. Very comfortable, easy unhook/rehook and has good support. It was $38 and I picked it up at Macys.
I am looking for recommendations on brands of good nursing bras(decent price, good quality and long lasting), especially for someone who is well endowed.
Thanks everyone for all the advice! I did go to Nordstrom and got fitted and bought the Anita bra. Pricey, but good support. I am also heading to Bosom Buddies today to see what else I may be able to find. At least this gives me a start and then once I have the baby and really know what is going on, I take all these other suggestions and order some things online too. Thank you all!

Hard to tell you where to shop when we don't know where you are... If you're anywhere near SLC, I would recommend checking out Motherhood Maternity in Sandy. It's a specialty shop and they are fantastic. I bought my nursing bras there and I know they go to cup size K. So yeah, for the very well-endowed. They even have specialty sized swimming suits there. They do have a website, but no ordering on it. I guess it's just to give you an idea of what they have.
Anyway, good luck.
I second the Bravado recommendation. They are pricey, but I LOVE mine. I have a couple of cheaper Target ones that are okay, but I adore my Bravado (weird to say that about a bra!) and it was worth every cent! I got mine at the Nursing Nook at Lutheran.
I spent $20 each on nursing bras at, of all places, Walmart. I bought the Bestform brand item# B388. I love this bra because even when the bra is unhooked to nurse, it still gives support on all sides (unlike some of the others when you unhook them, there is only support on the one side...and when you are big, that's not enough support...I bought one from the motherhood store like that, wore it once and went back to my "cheap" Walmart bras). I am still wearing mine and my son is over a year old...they hold up well. I did notice when I tried to go back and get more for this new baby that they were out of my size, but I am going to try to order online if I can. But in the bigger cities, they may have more selection than they do for us here in Cheyenne. Good luck!

I just went online and they are currently $11.71 with $0.98 shipping right now. They are calld Bestform Sports Nursing Bra Style B388 The biggest size they have is a 42DDD, but I am a 40E and get even bigger when my milk is in and this fits me perfectly...you might try it for that price (don't know how well endowed you are), but you can't beat that price or shipping! They did say that the band sizing is a little off so you may get the next size up just in case. Good luck!
I don't know about you, but I need a bra that means business, not a flimsy little pretty thing! That's especially true for my nursing bras, since they need to work well AND keep "the girls" pointed in the right direction!
I am medium-enthusiastic about my Bravado bra, but it is very good quality. I think I just prefer underwire. (Which BTW, is totally fine when breastfeeding. It's ill-fitting underwire worn all the time that causes problems with plugged ducts, and even a non-underwire bra could do that if it's ill-fitting.)
I never get out of the house with three kids, so I've found my best answers online. I love www.birthandbaby.com (or is it .net? I can't remember) They have a wide range of styles and prices. I also love www.barenecessities and www.motherwear.com. Motherwear has a wider range of quality; Bare Necessities tends to be upscale; Birth and Baby offers members of La Leche League a 10 percent discount and has tons of fitting information about how to measure and about how each bra fits, so it's hard to go wrong. La Leche League also now offers their own brand of mid-range nursing bras. You could see them at www.llli.org.
They aren't cheap, but if you want a serious business bra, I highly recommend Anita brand. They fit great, hold up wash after wash (hang dry, of course) and have a functional clasp on each cup that you can open and close one-handed without looking (because the baby is in your other hand--only someone who's never nursed a baby would design a more complicated clasp!) I really love mine and don't regret spending the $50 each on them--it's like a makeover--now all my cheap T-shirts look so much cuter on me!
If you are really wary about buying online or feel like you simply must try it on, I know Nordstrom carries Anita brand bras, but you have to ask the clerk because they are usually not on display.
Best wishes!
I like my Yes Maternity bras that I got off ebay. They are a sports bra style so there's lots of support. It looks like they have large sizes. The seller is happy to answer question by email - I asked her to help me find the right size before I bought mine.

Try bravada. You can purchase them online and they only take a couple days to arrive. Plus they make sizes for the well endowed.
Bossom Buddies is great but $$.
I got fitted and bought 2 bras from them- After making sure I liked them I was able to buy them through Fresh Pair for $10 less (each) with free shipping.
This bra is so comfy

You can look on www.lanebryant.com. I know the store is for plus-size, but I still got my bras through them because they are still kind of pretty for the size. You don't feel so "industrial", if you know what I mean. I hope this helps.

There is a lot of advice on this website too on choosing nursing bras.
They have a great store near the Park Meadows mall---ideal to be fitted appropriately and you can try on all different styles to see what suits you best. (They also have a kit you can order online to help fit as well, from afar. :0)The one I ended up coming home with (in all the colors they had available and a couple more :0) was made by Bravado. The numbers inside the label are 1401 and beneath that is CA 50897. I am not sure which is the style number. I like them because the clasp is easy to do, they have laundered really well over the past year---they actually still look like new. With my first three kids, I used the Playtex ones that you could get at Kohl's and JCP. I wish I would have found Bravado first because the Playtex ones were horrid for support. And, FWIW, a pointelle style, like the Playtex ones, loses it's shape and support because of the little dots on the front (I think I learned this from one breastfeeding website and I can say that it's true!)
Lastly, you didn't ask for this so bear with me as I give some gratuitous advice (something SO MANY pregnant women have to bear, sorry)----I bought 7 bras with the idea in mind to wash them once a week. You are so busy with the baby and keeping up around the house sometimes that it is nice to know there is always a clean bra. During the first few months you will likely go through two a day depending on how much you leak. I did find the disposable breast pads (Johnson and Johnson, Medela, and others) worked really well to help keep you bras drier and cleaner. I will say that I am glad I have all those bras and as I come to a close with my baby turning one soon, she is only nursing before naps and bedtimes, but I know I have gotten a lot of good out of those bras and didn't have to buy anymore through the year.
Best wishes.
There is a great bra that I recommend to all of my StrollerFit moms..it's actually a jogging bra, but you can use it as a nursing bra, as well. It's made by Moving Comfort and the style name is Fiona.
I think it runs about $50, but you might be able to find it online for less. Title 9 stores carry them.
Good Luck!
bravado-i think they're called lifestyle microfiber...they run ~$50 but they're my fave!
Hi S.
"our sweet beginnings" in littleton (downtown near the melting pot), has custom bra fitting, highly recommend it... and yes, they do carry bigger sizes. I'm normally a 36-38 C, but when pregnant/nursing wore a 38-40 DD...
it won't be cheap, but a well fitting bra is worth it...
for night time, I like the sleeping bras they have at motherhood maternity... and heck, I wore one for the first six weeks or so pretty much around the clock (unless I had to leave the house).
I went to mimi mat this time around, which is on the expensive side at about $50.00 a bra. I went into the store thinking this would be one of the best nursing bras in the world, but I when I tired them on, I hated them!
I found that the motherhood mat store had the best bras at the best prices. They even have great ones to sleep in - I still wear those and I am no longer nursing! Each bra I bought was $16.00 and the night time one was $14.00. They have all different colors and sizes. Some have padding and under wire, and some don't.
Good luck!!
Hi S.,
I found lots of great nursing bras online at breakoutbras.com. They have a great section on how to find your correct size in nursing/maternity bras as well as regular bras. I had been wearing the wrong size, and wearing the right one make SO much difference! I am also well-endowed (36H), so I know how hard it can be to find bras in my size, I can't just go to Target or the mall and find a bra that fits me. I really like Freya and Fantasie bras, they are really supportive, but still pretty and fun, but the website I mentioned has a great selection of stuff, some a bit pricey, but worth every penny!
Good luck!
I don't really know what brands are available in the US because I don't live there anymore, but as someone who is VERY well endowed, I highly recommend AGAINST a nursing bra that opens with a zipper. Very unhandy and always a risk of zipping the girls in there....ouch! The clip variety is MUCH easier. And you'll want a few, because if you produce a lot of milk, you may end up with a soaked bra and have to change. Get one that's soft and supportive and that you can sleep in. Sorry if this is TMI, but my nipples were so hashed and my breasts so sore for the first 3 weeks that I only took my bra off to shower. Good luck in your search!
HI S., I definately agree with the "Boosum Buddies" store! They helped me with my maternity and nursing bra's. Now they help me with my regular bras. I was an "H" after my milk came in! I really had no idea that boobs could get that big naturally! :) Anyway, be prepaired for them to stay large. I never returned to a "D" I am now an E or F depending on the brand. The women working there will fit you just right. They have sizes up to "K" I think. hope you don't need that one! You can expect to pay between $70-$90.00 each. Try to leave the babies with someone whle you go. Good luck.
I always bought mine online at Babycenter.com (they sold their store to Diapers.com, so check there). Bravado is great as well as Majamas.
Best advice I have is to wear them 24 hours a day!! It'll really help with drooping, leaking, and back pain.
Something for night time, I would always wear a tanktop with built in bra to bed. It was more comfortable and gave some support and I was able to put my pads inside of it so I didn't leek in bed.
Bosom Buddies is great, there is a store in Westminster, and I think at park medows. They will help find the perfect bra for you, along with pajamas, shirts, anything you need. I went in thinking I wore a 38D and left wearing a 36F. that's right. F....I'm sure they will have the size you are looking for.
