I have rosacea on my checks and I will be seeing a dermatologist soon. The last doctor I saw prescribed me antibiotics and "Metrogel" and the gel made my face like leather. Every skin product for cleansing and lotion and sunscreen burns my face instantly. I also get tons of whiteheads and some blackheads and also have dry skin, but my face is alway oily???
Has anyone had similar skin problems and can you suggest any cleansers, lotions ect Please let me know. I am 44 years old and I don't really have problems with wrinkles, just the usual starting of crows feet and worry lines between my eyebrows, but not too bad. Also, can anyone suggest a foundation and powder that they have found to be really good.

Thanks,

L. ###-###-####

L.,
I have had several problems for years. I went to the dermatologist and they also put me on antibiotics and a skin gel. I had similar results. Someone recommended Clinique's acne line. I tried it and absolutely loved it. I used the acne bar soap, astringent and one of the lotions. I can't remember which one, but it was oil free. I had great results. Then, after I had my daughter, I had HORRIBLE acne like I have never seen before. I ended up having to go on Acutane. It was very expensive and dried my face out horrible, but after a few months, my acne was clear (except for the occasional blemish) and hasn't been back in almost 2 years. My skin is also very dry, but oily at the same time. One of the face lotions I used was Oil of Olay Total Effects for dry skin, no fragrances, etc. I had really good results with it. As far as make-up, I totally avoid Cover Girl. It almost all contains oil and has had horrible results everytime I've used it. (Except for mascara and eyeliner) The foundation I currently use is by L'oreal. It is the "Infallible" line. I love it. The powder I currently use is Maybelline PureStay powder foundation. I love both of these products. I have used them forever. I hope some of this info is helpful. Good Luck!!

Hi L.!

I am not a doctor, and I don't have personal experience with this, but I do know of a product line that has helped with a lot of skin issues. It is called Enfuselle from Shaklee. It is a completely natural product line that carried a 100% guarantee, so if you don't like it, you can get your money back. It is great for sensitive/problem skin. Also, you might consider looking to your insides. Bad skin can sometimes mean that your colon health needs attention. Nutrition on the inside can really help the way we look on the outside. I would love to share more with you, if you are interested. To get a look at the Shaklee Enfuselle, you can go to www.shaklee.net/startahealthylife/product/AdvancedSkinCare
Shaklee also has a make-up line, called Minerelles, that is GOOD for your skin. I love these products! Please let me know if you are interested in anymore information or if I can answer any questions for you!
Take Care!

hi! i don't know much about rosacea but i do know i've seen it said that most cases can be traced to a candida albicans overgrowth, in which case the antibiotics are only going to make it worse! here's a site with an overview of candida overgrowth:

www.naturalhealthforme.com/Candida.htm

it's worth looking at even if you don't think that's the problem, alot of americans have symptoms and don't even know that's what's going on.
good luck!
