Has anyone had an infant allergic to ELECARE infant formula? So far; Enfamil, Prosobee, Nutramigen, Nutramigen AA, and Elecare have not been successful. Any ideas for a 4 month old?

So What Happened?

Hello Mamas!!! Thank you so much to all those who responded to my request, I was at my wits end and desperate for a solution. The MOST AMAZING THING HAPPENED!! I had called her allergist and he didn't have any samples of the Neocate, but kept telling me that Neocate and Elecare are essentially the same kind of amino acid based formula. So I ended up going to a prayer meeting on Thursday night and the group that was there prayed for healing for my baby, and for us as a family. I felt the peace of God there and I truly believed that something changed that night. The next day we had an allergist appointment and the allergist said that her blood test came back negative for soy, and positive for milk. (this was a blood test taken earlier). So he put her back on Prosobee (the same prosobee that didn't work earlier) But I kid you not ladies, I know that the prayer for healing worked, I SEE the manifestation of the healing of the Lord because her skin is clear, she no longer has diarrhea, she has transformed daily, and she is a much happier baby and I know that it's only a matter of time before she'll be able to have dairy products as well, (I haven't tried them yet). My goal now is to try and breastfeed, but I had stopped for a while. I plan to see a lactation specialist to see if it is even still a possibility because my production seems really low right now, but it's still there. I believe at this point anything can happen because PRAYER WORKS. So thank you VERY MUCH Mamas for all of your advice and help. I love this community of moms that so freely give advice and share the wisdom of the experiences they've been through to help others. I'm grateful. Someone gave me this passage to encourage and sustain me through a most difficult time so I will just pass it on. Psalm 103:1-3 Praise the LORD, O my soul;all my inmost being, praise His Holy Name. 2 Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits-3 who forgives all your sins and HEALS ALL YOUR DISEASES. To all those non-christians out there; please don't be offended. I just wanted to share my experience and encourage the Christians, and those who dare to believe. Be encouraged & God Bless you all. Thank You again. :-)

I have to agree with Valerie. I just responded to another mother whose child was pooping all the time just short of diarrhea. After I had to wean each of my kids for medical reasons, I put them on soy, and ALL of them developed a soy allergy. My mother-in-law said to try goat's milk and it was a miracle! It is much easier to digest and closer to human milk. It can be bought by the case powdered online. You can try it at several markets, the fresh or canned stuff, but it is expensive. Once my daughter weaned her son at 15 months she put him straight onto goat's milk and he is doing fine. Two of my three children can tolerate milk as adults, but one of them still cannot tolerate either soy or milk, except maybe a little cheese. You do have to supplement for iron as goat's milk doesn't have enough, but when you child can tolerate iron fortified cereals that will not be a problem, until then the doctor will have to prescribe an iron supplement for infants. Good luck.

I'm surprised your baby still had an allergic reaction with the elecare as it is a hypo-allergenic formula- my son has been on it for about 8 months. Have you tried Neocate? This is another hypo-allergenic formula that we have also given my son that he has done well on. good luck!

Hi,

My daughter has allergies and severe reflux. Elecare has been the anwser to all of her issues. Once she was on elecare for a month. She has been able to get off all of her breathing and reflux meds. I cannot say enough good stuff about elecare - except the cost. Email me if you have anymore specific questions. ____@____.com

Many families have use a formula called Neocate (www.neocate.com) or the one from vancesfoods. If you are dealing with food allergies already, go to www.tacanow.org and check out everything there under GF-CF Diet. It is all in one place for families written by families.

Please make sure YOU have done the research on vaccinations for YOUR child. Sounds like she is already immune system compromised, probably from vaccines. The AAP recommended schedule of shots for children is too many, too soon. Here are sites and books that I always recommend for people to start their research:

www.909shot.com
www.tacanow.org

Healing the New Childhood Epidemics: Autism, ADHD, Asthma, and Allergies: The Groundbreaking Program for the 4-A Disorders, by Dr. Kenneth Bock

The Vaccine Book, by Dr. Robert Sears

What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Childhood Vaccinations, by Dr. Stephanie Cave

Evidence of Harm, by David Kirby

Good luck. It's not fun when they are having problems when they are so little :o( but it does get better :o)
