My normal is higher too. It sucks, but nothing we can do about it.
Avoid heat, drink a bit more water than the average person, and voila life is ok.
My 16-year old daughter always has a temperature above normal. It's always 99.4 and above. She's never sick and feels fine but I was curious if you knew anything about this. She just had a check up at the doc and they didn't say anything when they took her temp. Of course, I didn't think to ask. She's healthy and active but does get migraines weekly. Thanks so much!!

I think it's probably just normal for her. My temps have always been very low..around 96.2 on a regular basis..98-99 and I've got a fever. Drs have checked me out, but there's nothing wrong. It's just the way I was made.
99.4 is in the normal range 98.6 just happens to be the average that doesn't mean that every person during every second of the day is going to be that temp. You also live in a warm state so it's quite normal for it to be a little a higher and her not be sick. I know on a hot day it's normal for my kids to be 100 especially if we've been in the car (my ac broke :( )
Everyone's "normal" is different. I run in the low 97's so if I were to be 99.4, that would be considered high for me. I work in a hospital and temps vary from 96-99 all of which can be normal for a particular individual. As long as she is fine then you shouldn't be concerned.
Bieber Fever will do it!
You sound like your talking about my 14 yr old son! He has always felt warmer to me and he is very healthy other than allergies. Pedi says he's fine so I don't worry. Im opposite! My hands are always freezing!
My normal temperature is always above the average normal. I've always been that way. My son, on the other hand, is normal at 97.8 or .9.
Sometimes a slightly elevated temp can be called a low grade fever, but there are a lot of people who deviate from the "normal" 98.6 and aren't ill.
As long as her blood levels, endocrine and metabollic systems are within normal limits, it shouldn't be cause for alarm. You can call the doctor's office and say you forgot to ask about it, but it is possible for this to be normal for your daughter.
Just my opinion and best wishes.

It is normal! About 5% of people have 99.3 as normal. I had it when I was a child and teenager. Now it is more close to common, but not a 98.6. I do not think that I was sick more then other children. When my mom ask a doctor about the temperature, the doctor told " Just stop checking it and don't worry".
