Hello ladies,
I've asked a few questions here, and have gotten such helpful responses that I that I would like to turn to you all again. My daughter is 4 months old, and according to friends, I didn't expect to get my period for quite some time because I am exclusively breastfeeding. At about 2 months, I got a short period, it was definitely more than spotting, but less than my pre-pregnancy period. I got it again a month later, right around the 4th of July. I haven't had one since. I took a pregnancy test on the 10th, and it was negative. I have been on Camilla, the pill that is ok for breastfeeding since July. Should I just routinely take pregnancy tests to make sure I'm not? Or is this pretty normal?

What can I do next?

In my experience it's pretty normal. I also breast fed exclusively with my first but still got my period back when she was 3 months! Like you, it would be barely there one month, heavier the next, and then skip a month once in a while. My second daughter is 5 months and I've spotted a few times but nothing consistent. Hope that's not TMI - just wanted you to know it's not uncommon. One more thing - I took a few pregnancy tests during the 14 months I breast fed my first daughter - especially if I was inconsistent from month to month. With both my girls my period/spotting started when they started sleeping through the night. If you still feel unsure don't hesitate to ask your health care provider:)

Blessings:)

I wouldn't worry. When you first get back on birth control, because you may not get a period that first time. You recently had a baby, so your hormones aren't back to normal yet. I wouldn't worry about it, but I would be cautious because while they say no sex for 6 weeks, you are still VERY fertile for the first 6 months!

I've had similar fears so I'm curious to see what others post. My son is 6 months and I have had one period when he was around 4 mo but not since. I am also on Camila. My ob/gyn says it's normal.

Hello...

You shouldn't worry! I am also nursing, my daughter is about to be 11 months old. I have had 2 periods since I had her. They were not back to back month wise either. I am unsure if I will get a period month to month now since I have started to get them back. If it has been long enough and you waited to take a pregnancy test then I would trust the result.
I am also on the mini pill, it does nothing for me to help the length or cramps of my period. So mine are like 1 week long. But, the pill is completely safe to take during nursing and won't cause side effects to my daughter, unlike the regular pills!
I did nurse my son for 1 year, as I am with my daughter. I got a period every month then. I thought that was weird, but I am all about not getting a long period with all those cramps. I hope I can wait until I start the Yaz, after I am done nursing!!
Good luck and good for you for nursing!!
