antibiotics can make the pill ineffective and there for you can get pregnant after a course of antibiotics.
Hi all, I usually am very regular, every 27, 28 days. Am on day 30 and still nothing. Have taken a few preg tests, all negative. With both of my girls, the day I missed my period my tests came back positive. Husband is in military so has not been here lots this month. Only time I can think of is on 2nd to last day of my period. And a week and a half later was in ER and given antibiotics. Guess just wondering if you think antibiotics can cause a delay in period? Nurse this a.m. said most likely not. So then am wondering how likely it is to be pregnant and not getting a positive result? Thanks for your help.

It can be either one. I have taken meds that have made me late but antiboiotics do weaken the pills effectiveness. Not every pregnancy will show positive that soon if you are. It all depends on your hormone levels.
Good luck and God Bless~
Stress can delay a period. I got positives right away with mine too.
Sometimes your monthly can change a few days. i would wait till your a week late and then retest. afterwards then check with the dr
Many things can disrupt our normal cycles, including being sick. The only thing to do is wait a few mor days and take another test if your period still hasn't started.
You didn't say you were on the pill, but since this has come up - antibiotics, except one rarely used one called rifampin (Rimactane), have not at all been proven to have any affect on birth control pills.

Antibiotics plus pill = baby lots of times.
Stress can also play a major factor.
Are you on the pill? Antibiotics will lessen the effectiveness of oral contraceptives.
I had about 4 negative home pregnancy tests before one finally showed up positive.
Are you stressed? My period came EARLY last week because I was in the hospital with my daughter. Her nurse said that happens a lot.
