Anyone Had a Tummy Tuck? What Was Your Recovery Like?

I am having a full tummy tuck and liposuction in July. I was wondering if I could get some feedback on some other moms recovery periods. What kind of pain level, how long were you down and how have the results changed your lives. I'm not overweight, I just want help getting back my shape. Any personal stories are appreciated. I am really excited but also nervous.

I met someone who had a tummy tuck abroad. They were happy with the results but I couldn't believe how big the scar was. About 9 inches long. I don't know if this is the norm but make sure you ask about that. Good luck.

Hi D.!!

Hey, I am considering doing the same thing and have already interviewed 2 Plastic Surgeons!!

Email me at ____@____.com and lets chat about it! I plan to do this in the Fall since we are moving into my dream home in a couple of months, but I have been wanting to do this for a long, long, long time! I am still trying to lose more weight, because I hear it is better to lose all the weight first and then have the TT done. It will look alot better and so I have about 25 more pounds to go.

I hear there are 2 different ways of doing a full out TT, so I can send you the Docs I talked to and the procedures. 1 was more expensive than the other.

I will come back and read on here to see what other folks told you! I am so glad to hear, that someone else is wanting to do this. I am not vain, I just know that I will feel TONS better about myself if I have this done!!

Good Luck!!

Gladys

I have not personnaly had one done, but my mom just had one. She is 46 and was very happy with her results. However, you will need help with your kids for the first couple of weeks. You can't stand straight up, you have to walk around bent at the waist. She had alot of back pain from having to stay in this position. She didn't complain alot about her incision, she just said it felt REALLY tight and like the skin didn't want to stretch. She had 2 drains they left in her to drain the blood and fluid for like a week. But for at least a month after she would go back to the Dr. and they would insert a needle into her tummy area to drain. Rest like they tell you to or you will build up fluid and have to get drained more. Good luck. Hope this helps!

I'm so glad you asked this question! How much is your costing? I am considering having this done. I'm giving myself until 40-4 more years to get back to where I want to be..then all bets are off!
