Not concerned, just curious :) We still swaddle our son at 8 months and he sleeps well. Anyone else swaddle this long? Also, how do you do it? Miracle blanket (still using, as long as he fits!)/regular blanket/something else....? Doctor said no harm in it :)

What can I do next?

My son is 9 months and we've had to wrap him up again on occasion, especially when he was teething, so that he could get some sleep. He loves it and giggles sometimes. It's funny because he is so long now, but it puts him at ease and right to sleep ;) I used a sheet a couple of times instead of a receiving blanket...seems to work better as he is bigger now. As a Native American family, we had a baby board and my son used that until he grew out of it. Plus he got too heavy and didn't really need it and began to fall asleep by himself. When I was about 2 or 3 I remember asking my mom to wrap me up, because it'd feel so good in her arms and she'd use a blanket & rock me for a while. That was fun for me and I now that I think about it I think that she probably enjoyed pretending that I was a baby again.

Yes, I swaddled as long as my kids seemed to like it and it helped them sleep better! I have a picture of my daughter all bundled up like a burrito with a big smile on her face at 8 months. I used a combination of homemade flannel wraps and the Amy Coe Mod Baby receiving blankets from Target, which are the right size and affordable (I think 8.99 for 3) When they started busting out consistently I stopped.

We actually just swaddling our 6 months old. She would have nothing of it when she was tiny, but now that her little hands are so active (and up to no good), she likes being all wrapped up to go to sleep.
My niece was swaddled well into her second year, my sis just used whatever fit (blankets, sheets).

My daughter grew out of my swaddling item so I ended up sewing two receiving blankets together and rolling her up like a burrito. Worked great! She was one who didn't like swaddling when she was younger, but loved it as she grew to be a few months old.

If he will let oyu do it go for it. mine wiggled too much by that age. try a recieving blanket of some sort once he grows out of what you are using now.
