I am going crazy with baby fever!

I've always wanted at least 3 kids, preferably 2 years apart. Well, my son is almost 19 months and I am VERY ready for another baby (And my fiance agrees, saying that he can't wait to have another one). Unfortunately, baby fever has terrible timing. Both my fiance and I want to be married before we start trying for another one (Which, the wedding is in July so we don't have to wait TOO long for that one). And, of course, I need to get a job (I had to quit my previous job due to my wrist problems (Plus we moved) and am now recovering from surgery, but I am looking and applying and hopefully will find something soon). And now I'm going back to school (Start May 29). I am trying to keep my course load as light as possible while still feeling like I am doing something. Of course, I finished high school with a newborn (With straight As (Before I got pregnant my grades were mostly Ds, and then while pregnant my grades were Cs and Bs... So my grades actually got better after having my son)). So I know that I would be able to do it (And grants are covering a majority of the cost).

ANYWAYS, my point is, my fiance and I have to wait for AT LEAST 3ish months before we can even start trying for another one and I (Being the impatient person that I am) am going crazy!!! It doesn't help that my son, for some strange reason that I haven't quite figured out, has started to smell exactly like he did when he was a newborn. It's not the shampoo/baby wash or the laundry detergent. He kind of smells like breast milk. Which brings me to another weird thing that has been going on. I have been having a very STRONG urge to breastfeed. I breastfed my son for about 6 weeks. During that time, it was a love hate relationship. I loved having that bond with him but hated the actual process. But now, I don't know... I just have this weird strange strong urge to breastfeed (Which obviously I can't do until I have another baby).

So, am I alone? Anyone else have baby fever right now? Would you like to join my support group? We can keep each other from throwing away our birth control pills (Or tearing off our birth control patches, which would be what I need). Lol

P.S Let me add that I am NOT even considering getting pregnant until after the wedding/finding a job.

P.S.S I forgot to mention that my son gets extremely jealous when anyone other than him is giving mommy attention. Whenever my fiance (Who is little man's dad) and I try to cuddle on the couch, little man climbs up onto my lap and then proceeds to try to push his dad off the couch! After my friend had her baby we got together at a restaurant. I was holding her baby, feeding him a bottle... Little man threw the BIGGEST temper tantrum I have ever seen. Normally he loves meeting new people and will immediately want to sit on their lap and give them hugs. He wouldn't even look at my friend! Plus, he tried to hit the baby! Then when we finally got home, he wouldn't let go of me for the rest of the night. He even sat in my lap during dinner! So that's another reason that we have to wait just a little bit longer. Lol

What can I do next?

Hi V.!

I can only speak from my experience, obviously you will do what is right for you. Going to high school with a baby and going to college with a baby would definitely not be the same thing. I was able to get through high school with straight A's having never studied a day in my life. College is another cup of tea entirely. It's TOUGH. I thought the same as you, that I could have it all. So, I had my first child while I was in college. It was the most stressful, overwhelming thing EVER. I was also working full time. I'm surprised I survived as long as I did alive, without medication, because that was so unimaginably hard. I didn't make it more than two semesters.

Can you support a child financially? You're not working.... can you survive on only your husband's income? Remember that if you get pregnant before finding a job, it will be much harder to find one. When I was pregnant with my 1st and looking for a job, no one hired me. With my 2nd, I switched jobs but had to lie about my pregnancy, which I hated doing.

I got baby fever in March, tried to fight it off, then quit taking my pills and was pregnant less than 10 days later. I'm 11 weeks pregnant now, and couldn't be happier. But I'm in a much different situation than you, I couldn't find any reasons to talk myself out of it. haha!

Whatever you decide, good luck!

I have baby fever right now too, and I already have 3 kids! I always thought 3 was my magic number, and consider myself very lucky to have 3, I should be satisfied, but I'm craving another one! My husband is about ready to go get fixed, and is definitely not wanting another one so I guess I'll just have to get over it somehow!

I totally get the breastfeeding thing too. I tried to nurse my youngest, but we had latch problems and supply problems. I gave up on it too easily, and have regretted it ever since. I've even had some depression about it, so of course I would love another chance to breastfeed another baby. But, then logically I know that if I had another one, I'd be sad and depressed when that baby started growing up too, and then I'd be wanting a 5th.

My advice to you is try to be patient. You are still very young, and your son is only 19 months old. It would be better for you to wait until you're done with school and financially stable. An older child makes a great helper to you and a younger sibling.

Best wishes!

I have it, too! My girl is 3.5 and so independent and funny and sweet--and constantly asking if we're going to have a baby soon! We had friends over this weekend and I got to hold their 6-month-old son for about an hour and it was just so sweet to have him cuddle and just look around in awe and observe everything! Fortunately, dd is absolutely on-board with the idea and kept asking if baby could go down her slide, hold the snail, play in the sandbox, etc! Hubby's right on board, too. I guess, even though I have "baby fever," I'm the one holding up progress--I just don't feel quite ready--still have a few things to situate before taking that leap! :) Not-so-secrectly, I hope the next baby is twins--then I will get the three I've always wanted (hubby only wants 2)!

Can I be a member too?!?!?

Talk about bad timing, lol. I've also got 3 right now. Never thought I would want 4. We are looking to sell our house, move to VA area, rent for a few years to get finanaces in order and watch the housing market there for a bit possibly have to both start new jobs (I may be able to do an internal transfer) and I want to throw a newborn into the mix! Ugh.

(I really like the 2 year spacing I've got going on though....)

Oh well.

I don't have baby fever, but my husband sure does. LOL!
We are going to start ttc #2 in November when my birth control runs out.
I am an impatient person also. I know how hard it is to wait for something you want so badly.
Good Luck!
