I've read several places that you should really never buy a used crib - for the very reasons you mentioned. If there are missing parts it can be very dangerous for your child.
Does anyone have this crib? I just bought this crib from someone and it seems to be missing some parts. What does the bunky board sit on? Does the crib have mattress holders or does the mattress just sit on the little ledges provided around the perimeter? It seems pretty flimsy. The dog's even chewed off the bunky board! Where can I find the missing parts?
Thanks,
Archana

I don't have that crib but a similar situation. My sister gave me her crib that she had used for her son. We have passed it down through 3 children but when I got it, it seemed to be missing some parts. I called the company that is listed on the bed and explained the situation. They emailed me the instructions on how to put it together with a list of all the parts it should have. I was able to order the parts it was missing and put it together with no problem.
You should get the serial number off the crib and either look it up under the manufacturer or call them. They don't want you to have a crib without parts so most of them are very cooperative and will help you out.
Good Luck!!
We have the Babi Italia Lifestyle 3 in 1 crib. Yours should come with more parts. Ours had a metal spring base that the mattress sits on that raises & lowers in height. Go to http://www.babiitalia.com/index.html and contact customer assistance for parts for your crib.
I bet they can help! Also, check for recalls.
I believe we had that crib and yes it should come with alot more parts. Look on some part of the crib and their should be a sticker with company info and model number. You should be able to call them.
Definitely check for recalls too...I thought that one might have been on the list. I sold both the cribs I had on craigslist years ago and I tried to make sure I kept every last screw for the people I sold it too. Ive heard a ton of people not seeing the crib 'set up' and then getting it home missing a bunch of pieces. Good luck!
