No one will care about the weather so I wouldn't worry about that. I would say early January after things settle down from the Holidays. Feb is way too late. My first came 2 weeks early and my friend had one come 3 weeks early. You just never know.

I was due the end of January with my first, I had my shower the first weekend in December. Thankfully we didn't wait because he came 3 weeks early. We lived in Ohio, and Winter there is normally pretty bad, but no one seemed to mind going out in the bitter cold.

I have 2 winter babies & they were both early (my 1st was 3 weeks & my 2nd was 1 week). Actually, our 2nd was due Feb. 22 & we had her on Valentine's Day! So I guess what I'm saying is don't do February. I'd do early January. I live in Ohio & nobody minded coming to a snowy shower. Good luck & congrats!

Hi, I'm due 10 days before you! I'd say the third week of January, that gives you time to deliver a few weeks early or get things set up and ready.

Or depending on your views about company and such after the baby, you could have a meet the baby shower the weekend after you get home. It might give the weather some time to warm up.

good luck.

You could do beginning of December which is a pretty month for decor and everyone is happy and wanting to party and socialize or you could do it beginning of Jan. Most people do it a month before around us.

I was due feb 5. My shower was the second weekend in November. It worked out fine. It was november because of the reasons you stated. The latest I would do it is the second weekend in december. Congratulations!

Yeah, I vote January too. And I'm in Ohio...right now. :P
IDK about your family but Nov. and Dec. are crazy busy (and extra broke) months for us.
Feb. would be cutting it too close.
Congrats!

I would say January. The number one reason is people are watching their money once they realize Christmas is coming around the corner. You won't have much turn out in December at all, they will want to spend their money on their kids and family. I would say some time in January. The road crews know how to plow and get the snow out of the way.

Or just wait until February. I have even heard of people waiting until the baby is born to have one. You could with until the baby was a few weeks old so they would have some time to build up their immune systems too.

I'd go with at least a month before your due date, but in the last trimester. I had my second child just over 3 weeks early and my co-workers were throwing a shower and we missed it. They were bummed and did it after my leave, but they'd gotten me a carseat and wanted me to have it.

Early enough also gives you time to take care of any returns, figure out what you still need, etc. I think if people live around bad weather you know you have to travel for things anyway. I still go to work on bad days, I just count the cars in ditches to give me something to do. :)

Is the guest list more friends or family? If it's more family holding it near the holidays could be the perfect time since everyone will be planning to get together anyway.

Congrats! I vote for Jan. since you won't be as worried about going into ____@____.com, after the dec-new year's gatherings, others might look forward to an event in Jan.
