Wow, if Debbie F. is willing to watch kids for $2.5 per hour I ought to move to St. Charles! lol! I guess it depends on the situation. If your 7 year old is staying with a family who has kids of a similar age then maybe $25 per day is fine, though it seems incredibly low to me. If someone is coming to your house, however, you'll need to pay MUCH more.

Its $15/hr where I am. I bet you can do a flat rate that is a little less if its a consistent schedule. Good Luck!

I'd probably set a weekly rate instead of hourly. Also I think it depends if you are going to their home or the child is coming to your home. My daughter is 7 and goes to summer camp 3 days per week (8:30am-5:30pm, 1 hour less than you would be watching this child) and it's 100 per week. 4-5 days per week is 140 per week. It might also depend on what kind of activities you will do... If they are providing food & snacks.... etc?

i know when you have someone watch your kids in THEIR home for such long period of time the rate kinda goes down. I thik i paid $5 an hr for 1 kid, which is 1/2 the cost of daycare out here.
