I bough some years ago & did not care for them- pllows a;ways slide off the bed- Cotton is much better. I agree with Leslie's response.
I need to buy new sheets for my queen size bed. Just wondering if anyone has ever had satin sheets and what you thought of them or should i just stick with cotton?

Satin sheets are very hot and very slippery. Keeping pillows in place is a chore. I much prefer the hotel sateen (you can get them at Bed, Bath & Beyond.) The trick is to look for the highest thread count you can afford. The sateen has a nice sheen to it, that I find lasts longer than the sheen of satin. They have that crisp coolness that I enjoy when sliding into sheets.
While the feel of satin sheets is wonderful they can be a real pain in the neck to keep on the bed. I only take out the satin sheets when I want to celebrate a special occassion or for the special night LOL. Otherwise cotton is my preference for everyday living.
I have had satin sheets in the past but the ONLY sheets I buy now are Egyptian cotton sheets. They are so soft, don't pill or snag and they are like sleeping on a cloud. They can be pricey but if you look for them when they are on sale, they are quite the bargain.

My daughter wanted satin sheets more than anything in the world (she claimed) so I bit the bullet and gave in. She hated them, I hated them. Like the other posts said they do not stay on the bed, ever. She wore a satin nightgown and slid right out of bed one night! Needless to say, it was a waste of money. Dont do it! We all love the cotton sateen and egyptian cotton sheets. If you really want to have the satin, buy only the top sheet and pillow cases, they stay on the bed with a cotton sheet. Good luck!
