Hi G.,
If you are talking about Bent Tree Child Development Center on Addison Road...My daughter has been going there for two years and we have had a very good experience. The director is wonderful and the staff is positive and upbeat. Their Summer program is fun - they have different themes and "splash" days throughout the Summer. It's not academically driven because the curriculum is just looser in the Summer. I would recommend it.

my daughter went there for over a year and i was not that happy with them, my daughter had 4 teachers during this time and she was the oldest child in her class and they wouldn't changer her to the next class because she was "too active for the older class" but she wasn't learning anything and the kids in her class moved up without her, also the front office staff changed while we were there and they took the only people there that my family liked out. anyway I hope you find something but I would not "recommend" them.

G.,

I would not recommend this school. I visited and felt very uncomfortable with the director. She was not very informative and would not provide me with a tour. She said I could come back at another time because she was the only office worker. I also felt uncomfortable with their "workbook" approach to learning. I have a very busy (and smart) three year old who learns better through play. I agree that introducing workbooks at this age is beneficial. However, that appeared to be their primary way of teaching. Research shows that as very ineffective at preschool age. Then I looked the school up on the Texas Department of child protective services websited and was shocked. They had a whopping 8 violations during their last inspection! There are many other good programs in the area. Try Trinity Christian Academy or Bent Tree Development Center. I would strongly suggest you select another program. I have researched many chld care facilities and have never seen so many violations.

Check out the report for yourself: http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Care/Search_Texas_Child...

I hope my advice is helpful to you. Good luck in your search!

My son went to this school when he was two. On a positive note, his teacher was great with him. He loved her to death and she did teach him alot. I was able to talk to his teacher openly about his progress as well. On the other side, he was sick ALOT. I took off an average of two days a week b/c he would come down with a fever. The morning teacher did not speak much english so any information I needed to give to the teacher was lost in translation. They allowed parents to bring in children with fevers. I witnessed this on many occasions. The classroom lessons were not very creative. All artwork was done by coloring a page in the art workbook. But he was learning alot in academic areas. They do have cameras in the classrooms also. I ended up pulling him out b/c of the fact he was sick alot and constantly being hurt by the other kids in his classroom. You might look into KinderCare down the street off Frankford. It's on the other side of the Kroger. I have nothing but good things to say about them.
