My son is fully potty trained in the daytime but at night we are still working on....He was wearing pull ups at night but they seems to leak, maybe because he lays on them and they aren't made to absorb that much. Anyone know of a good type pull up for nighttime. I dont want him in diapers at night, but I want something that will be absorbant enough. I also tried Huggies Goodnights and they seem to leak too. Any help would be great. Thanks!

What can I do next?

huggies night time pull ups, also my daughter is 100% day trained about 50% of the time wakes up mostly dry in the morning but we started limiting liquids about an hr before bed and also making her go potty RIGHT before bed, as in potty pull up bed. and she is using regular huggies pull ups and no leaks or anything, but we used the huggies night time because she just leaked right through with the regular ones for a few months

Please realize that his lack of being potty trained at night has nothing to do with his willingness to be potty trained at night. It is purely a biological issue, not a behavioral issue. (There's another question about this a little further down the page with some very good responses - you may want to take a look at that.)

That being said, just put him in a diaper at night; the most absorbent one you can find, and let your child get the rest he needs at night. Nothing you or he can do will make him be dry at night before his body is able to release the enzymes that signal the kidneys to stop urine production at night. That is the key to staying dry all night (not making him wake up to pee, or not letting him have water before bedtime, etc). Some children don't develop this until they're 7 or 8 years old, and that is considered totally normal.

My older daughter was potty trained at 24 months, yet couldn't stay dry at night until Kindergarten. She was so mad about it, but we just kept telling her, it's okay, your body just isn't ready yet (and then baby sister was potty trained and happened to be able to stay dry at night - before big sister! Drama! ;)

Just use whatever works for now, and forget about it. He'll stay dry on his own at some point soon.

Try Pampers under jams. They are made for bigger kids so they are extremely absorbent. I had used the small size for my daughter but she is a husky kid like her dad. They worked best for us.

We use the nighttime Huggies with Buzz light-year on them. They worked very well. He went to the bathroom before bed and then as soon as he woke up in the morning he went.

We are using the Goodnights now and I don't think they hold as much as the others. They are a size larger so we have to use them. But we had excellent luck with the Buzz Light year ones, they are in a navy package.

I use the Pampers easy-ups. They have never leaked on me before, and there have been mornings when she has had that thing FULL to bursting, and it didn't leak at all.

I also use the pampers underjams for my son. He is over 40lbs and they apparently dont make overnight pull ups in size 5T. We had leak issues with regular pull ups but no issues with these.
My son would NOT let us use a regular diaper on him anymore, and I think that is a good thing. Pull ups only. He is fully trained during the day, just needs it for nighttime.

If you like Huggies, you could try Huggies Slip On's. They are compared to the red box. I don't know my Huggies names very well, but in order of absorbency (least to greatest) I've found Huggies to be Pullups, White Box, Red Box, Purple Box (overnights).

We used Slip On's for a little while, and they worked great!

We use Seventh Generation pullups. They have never leaked. Huggies ones leaked pretty frequently for my dd though (even the night ones). Also I like the Whole foods brand of pullups.
