Wax wax wax...not that painful...especially not compared to the bump effect...
Or, I have friends who swear by the shaving gel sold a passion parties...I have a friend who sells if you need a hook up, but I wax!!!
I am 36 years old and I have a question I am hoping to get some help with!
For the past oooh....maybe 6 years or so......I shave my legs....and within 24 hours my bikini area starts itching and I get the tiny red bumps that hurt....
Then I can't shave for several days after that........very annoying and not that sexy!
I have tried every type of razor....mens...electric...4 blade, 3 blade...Plus I have tried several types of shaving creams.....I have put on that cream that is specifically for razor bumps......powder.....oh my gosh....seems like everything...
I will get the tiny bumps before the 24 hr period if I get goosebumps!!! I start freaking out when I get goosebumps cuz I can actually FEEL the irritation starting!
Do any of you get this too? Please help me with your opinions!
Thanks!

Personally, I feel your pain and unlike some women...the idea of waxing TERRIFIES me. Nothing should be ripped from that area of my body. Therefore I shave, takes two minutes and I am done.
That being said, I have a trick and it is cheap too! Deodorant. I use the Secret Gel kind. I put it on after and then usually the next morning too and sometimes just for good measure I do it again. I mean, what is it costing me right? LOL... I figured I don't get bumps under my arms and deodorant is the only thing missing down there, so I tried it. I later found out that adult entertainers frequently use this little trick as well. So, there you have it, a quick fix and no fuss.
The best thing that I have found to do is get a bikini wax.... you might be red/bumpy right after but it will get better and last far longer. Or what I do now (can't find time to get one since having 3 young ones), on the days I shave I make sure to wear my boy cut panties so that the elastic from regular panties isn't irritating the new shaved skin. That has been a huge help for me. Good luck
Hi Linda,
This is a problem that I think many of us deal with. The trick is to exfoliate before shaving. Exfoliating with remove the top 2 layers of dead skin cells which will allow for a smoother, closer shave and less irritation. I have found a great product that can also help reduce the irritation. It's called Sweet N Smooth. It is a salt and sugar body scrub with sweet orange and sweet almond oils. You apply it from the neck down and then rinse it off in the shower. You can then shave and will immediately notice a smooth and moisturized shave and less irritation.
Let me know if you would like a sample or more info on where you can find the product. I will be honest, I do sell this product but I only started selling after I discovered how wonderful the Sweet N Smooth was for shaving!
Arbonne International has a shaving gel for men that I use to shave with. Also most of the men that purchase it from me are black men in the military. Due to them having to shave all the time they end up having to get shaving profiles because of the "bumps." I sent several gels to Iraq one year for my husband's friends! They love it! He uses it also to shave his face and head. Let me know if you would like to try it. I have samples I could send you.
Have you ever heard of Pure Romance??? I'm not a consultant, but, I do recommend using their product called COOCHY. It smells good and it helped with my red "bumps" too. The best thing about it is that it works for both male and females on any body part.
Exfoliating before hand can help and to keep your razors new so they are sharp and clean. After shaving, spray with Aloette's Nurti-Hydrating Mist. It is 90% aloe vera and works great for calming and healing all kinds of skin irritations.

Linda,
If smooth and hair-free is what you are looking for, you might want to try waxing. It really isn't as bad as everyone says it is.
There are major differences between waxing and shaving, the benefits being with waxing in my personal opinion. And you can go longer between services than you can with shaving.
If you want to try it, or have any questions, I am a licensed Esthetician in the Tacoma area. If you're not in the Tacoma area, I can help you find an esthetician in your area.
Good Luck!

Linda,
I am a Passion Parties Consultant and for 4 years I have been selling Soft & Silky Shave cream. I swear by it! I too had the same problem. Before I used this product I was waxing. It will work also. However, You have to let your hair grow out each time. Soft & Silky Shave Cream is only $12.00. If it works for you wouldn't it be worth paying $100's! You can visit my website to place an order! www.pugetsoundpassions.com . Good Luck!
