Just wondering peoples opinions on thet Nuva Ring. I use to use the Ortho Evra Patch, but since I've got such sensitive skin, I am no longer able to use the Patch. My doctor gave me the Nuva Ring to try, havent just yet, but was wondering what other ladies thought about it.

What can I do next?

C. i always forgot the pill and due to a family history of cancer and tumors i cant get the shot, so I have been on the ring for 4 yrs. I was on it up untill i wanted to have my son and it took 2 months for me to get pregent and as soon as i went back to my ob i went back on it. It is easier for me not to have to worry about it i put it in leave it there for 3 weeks and then take it out. My husband says he never feels it. It has a lower dose of meds so it is less likely to increase my chances of cancer or tumors. I love it! I had it fall out a few times when i frist started using but only when i was also using a tampon it would come out with the tampon after a few times you get use to it. My OB wanted to try the Patches and I had to fight to get the ring, the patches fall off and i get red spots from them. I hope this helps.

Go for it girl. I LOVED the Nuva ring. My skin was so clear and I didnt' gain a pound while on it! It is safe and effective and virtually worry free. Once a month take it out 5 days later put another in. Try it you will love it too.

What can I say? LOVE IT!!! The Nuvaring is truly the way to go. I was on the pill for years, and would always forget to take them on time and would have to double up on occasion and then sometimes start a new cycle becuase I missed too many. I was also on the patch for a little bit of time, and quickly got off of it when it started leaving outlines of the patch on my body in the places where I would place it. It would take forever for the outlines to fade. Then I finally went on Nuvaring, before we had our daughter, and I absolutely loved it. You just out the ring in and completely forget about it until it's time change it again. My husband said her never felt it. And depending on your sensitivity level, you shouldn't be able to feel it if its inserted properly.
Good Luck!

From my time working in a reproduction clinic I can tell you that the nuva ring is quickly becoming the most popular form of birth control. The biggest advantages are definitely that you don't have to think about it every day (pill) or every week (patch). It has the lowest hormones - largely because it doesn't need to go through your digestive system like the pill - which also means it is highly unlikely that you would get nausea from the ring.

Another advantage of the ring is you can do continuous cycling. Through this you don't have to get a period, unless you want it. Instead of having a ring free week, you just insert a new ring on the 21st day. Sometimes your insurance will not cover the cost of the extra rings, but you can go to a clinic and get them - and depending on your income they would be at a reduced and possibly free rate.

I personally have not used the ring, I am a pill user. I was on the pill for four years, with no problems, switched to depo provera for three years but switched back to the pill about a year and a half ago because of the depo side effects.

If you want more information about any of the methods I would be more than happy to help you with you decision.
