Hi all you mom's out there. I am in need of some help/advice. My almost 4year-old is wanting to have a princess party this year. I was wanting to have her party somewhere other than at home this year but I am not having a lot of luck finding something slightly unique without it costing me an absolute fortune. I had thought about doing a princess tea party but since she is now in school I feel like I need to invite all the kids in her class. In fact they won't let me just invite the girls. Any ideas. I am even for a fun location that I just bring in princess themed party stuff. I would appreciate any ideas. Another idea I had was to wait and celebrate her birthday in October instead of September and do a costume party. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

How about since you have to invite all the kids in the class (both genders) you change it to a "knights and princess" party?

The kids could dress up as a knights or a princess (the boys would love playing wth foam swords) and you could host it at a park and set up medieval type games (think renaissance fair) or "boy vs. girl" games and serve lunch under a medieval tent. Or do crafts at the party... have the boys make swords and shields and the girls those princess cone hats with scarves coming out the top, or fancy crowns...

On the other hand I know I always like having a birthday or two in October to attend. Since these are usually costume parties my children get far more use out of their costumes than they would otherwise, so I think that is a fine option as well.

Have fun!

When my daughter turned 5 we also had a princess theme party. We have a large family so both boys and girls were invited. 1st - it was costume theme, no relation to Halloween. We asked the kids to come in their favorite dress-up outfit. 2nd - my husband and I cut several crowns out of cardstock style paper. The kids colored the crowns and (with parental help) glued jems to the crown. This was a huge hit! 3rd- they played several games ie: freeze dance, pin the crown on the princess, etc. 4th- decorations, my friends and I cut several stars and hung them from the ceiling. It was so magical and all the kids loved it! This was 7 years ago and she still remembers that magical day. Have fun and don't overthink it. She and her friends will have fun no matter what!

I had a Princess party for one of my girls and they were to come dressed up. I had a costume party for my son in March when he was 5 and just watched the video the other day. We had Woody the Cowboy, a tiger, Power Ranger, Princess, karate, etc. He's 18 now and it is so fun looking back and remembering his friends at this age. I hope your daughter has a small class if you intend to invite all the children, or you have a lot of help.

*Imagination Ave in Paradise Valley is a fun place.
*Bounce World on 67th ave and Peoria is more reasonable
then Pump it up by $100.
*Night Party at sun-down at a park. Parade/dress up.
*Bowling Alley for all the kids in their costume.
They are pretty afforable.
