My husband and I are trying to find some ideas for our son who is about to be 2's birthday party. We live in McKeesport and are looking to have it here or in the surrounding areas: West Mifflin, Monroeville, Irwin (nothing further than that). We know of the general places: McD's, Chuck E Cheese, Kid Company, etc. We're just looking for something different. We also aren't looking to spend a small fortune. If any one has any fun or creative (or both) ideas please let me know!

THANKS!

What can I do next?

I don't know how much you want to spend and I don't know how far this is from you, but the Pgh Zoo has birthday parties. Their website has pricing info for birthday parties and also for non-school group visits. Local farms have fall events (pumpkin patch, hayride, etc) and some have organized birthday parties.

If his birthday is close to Halloween what about a costume party at your home?

What about Gymkahana? I belong to the one in Bethel Park and I love it....Its good excersise for the kids or what about the Good Ship Lollipop via the Gateway Clipper?

Just throwing out my 2 cents

Think about the thing(s) your son likes best and see if you can build something from that. Are you definitely looking to have the party someplace other than home? Last year we had a farm themed party for my cow crazed son. This year my son is already talking about having a truck and tool party in Feb. If you do want to have the party outside the house, I have heard of someone having a party at a local firehouse (not in your area, but I'm guessing others may do it too if you ask). They talked to the kids about fire safety and let them check out the trucks and equipment. You can bring in whatever food you want usually.

If his birthday is this month or early next month try a pumpkin patch. Alot of them do birthday parties. They usually have each child decorate a pumpkin (with paint) and keep them entertained.
