I enjoy the site www.goodreads.com...it is like going to the bookstore online! Plus you can read reviews, start a collection of books you have read and talk to other people that are reading certain books!!!
Does anyone know if there is a website that will give you book recommendations based on what kind of books you like? The way that Netflix will show will you a list of recommendations when you rate a movie. Thanks.

If you like to read you should check out bookcrossing.com. It is a free website to read and release your old books. Additionally, once you start making a page you can find other people who have the same taste in books and talk to them about their favorites. I have found tons of books I would have never ever read, through my friend's on bookcrossing.com and their recommendations. It is totally private and there are wasy to sort of scavenger hunt for books, receive free books, and great recommendations.
I find paperbackswap.com and goodreads.com to be very helpful in recommending new books to read!
You can give reviews, receive reviews, and see what your friends are reading.
I'm *pretty* sure it does some recommendations too. Even if it doesn't, it's a great website.
:)
http://www.whatshouldireadnext.com/ might help you
my library's website will
Amazon! if you type in a book title thatyou like.. it will also give you a whole list of books similar to it! as well as giving you personal recommendations based on how you rate books you have read. It's awesome. i use it all the time to come up with new books to read. You can also buy them for like... 2 bucks each (used of course) from the site. I have always recieved books that were in pretty good condition despite being used. I love amazon. haha.
A lot of libraries do, but Amazon.com also makes recommendations for you based on things you like or look at.
I love Goodreads.com, but I don't think it gives you recommendations based on what you like. This is one thing I wish the site did. As far as I know, all it does is to show a very small list of books (3 or 4) of "People who read this also read".
