My son is eleven months and I am having a hard time getting him to go from bottle to sippy cup. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

Hi!
Don't make him do it. He will be curious enough on his own. Every child is different. It's not a law that they have to be off the bottle at a year. Let him be a baby another couple of months! :) Everything always works itself out, really!

They sell sippie cups at Wal-Mart that have a soft bottle like tip, only the tip is larger than a bottle and they look more like a sippie. They are a Nuby brand. Very inexpensive, in case he doesn't like them. $1.89 or so.
They are generally in a large box display near the infant stuff & come in lots of colors.
It may be an easier transition for him since the tip is pliable material instead of hard plastic. Plus, they are shaped to be easy to hold for small hands.
Good luck, and i agree, I wouldn't rush it. ;o)

I am in the same place as you. I started using a soft tipped cup to get him used to using the cup. I've also been giving him water or juice in a sippy with his meals during the day which has been working fine. Now I'm slowly trying formula in his cup. Don't worry too much - they will change to the cup soon enough.

My son never took a bottle, so the tipping of the sippy cup was beyond him for months! I had to hold it and tip it back every time he wanted a drink. He did seem to understand straws however and liked to drink my water at restaurants. So, I bought Nubby brand cups with straws and he took to those readily. He gets sippies now, but it took a while.
Good Luck! :)

Have you tried a straw cup? We did and ended up skipping the sippy cups.
