My son is going into 4th grade and will be needing some new pants. Does anyone know where to purchase pants that don't rip at the knees after a couple of wearings?

Thanks
J.

I found that the Old Navy pants did not last long, but the Gap ones did. They are expensive, but they do have sales. I've also gotten some Lands End pants. They are guaranteed, so if they do get a rip, you can exchange them for a new pair of pants, no questions. That worked VERY well.

When my son was little, Sears had a kidswear guarantee. If they wore out the clothes before they outgrew them, you could bring the item in and with no questions asked, get a new pair in the same size. It worked for broken zippers on winter coats, torn knees on jeans, and snaps that came off. It is worth checking into to see if they still do that.

My son too was one who went through the knees quickly. I found double kneed jeans from Sears. If they get a hole in the knee you can exchange them for a new pair of the same size. This saved us many times. Hopefully, Sears still does this. I used them about 4 years ago.

We sometimes buy wrangler from Target around 15. Levis are are also thick in the legs. I know Kohls sells them and I'm sure major department stores. Calvin Klein isn't bad either. He must be really rough on them.

I have gone a different route which has helped. I buy iron on knee patches that I iron on to the inside of the pants. You can't even tell that they are on but they extend the life of the pants. I've seen them in a couple of different colors (if the pants wear out on the outside and the patch shows through, it won't be as noticeable if you get a similar color patch) and they are inexpensive.

Good Luck
