Hi,
Just so I can get out the door faster in the morning. I want a drink or shake that is healthy. Something I can PURCHASE AT THE STORE that does not have a lot of sugar. I would not being using it to lose weight, (even though that would be okay) I just want something nutritious healthy.

Doesn't protein make you gain weight?

Do you have time to blend something? Yoplait has smoothies in the freezer section that have the fruit and yogurt packaged together and all you have to do is pour it in the blender, pour it in your cup and your done.

Naked juices... they are all natural pretty good juices. They are kinda thick, since they are real, so they will help curb appetite a little too. Strawberry banana is good

I have an intolerance to asparteme and it is in SO many of the drinks...well in lots of stuff really...anyway I really like Carnation drinks because they don't have the asparteme or other chemical sweeteners. (they give me migraines) if I have time I can turn it into a smoothie by adding other stuff to it, and if not it stands on its own.

I'd see what the American Dietetics Association recommends on their website.
http://www.eatright.org/

I'm guessing they'd point you more in the direction of something like Ensure or those that are developed for people with Diabetes.

We tried the Kashi one you mix with either water or milk. It's high protein but was very difficult to choke down. Carnation Instant Breakfast (depending on what you mix it with, in particular) is pretty high in carbs.

Slim Fast isn't too bad - a little high in Sodium, but not too bad in carbs from what I can tell online from their site's nutritional information.

If you have a Sam's Club membership or a Costco membership, they usually have a good selection of protein drinks (many that are either premade or that you add milk/water to) and are much cheaper.

I don't know if you specifically want a drink, but we started getting some of the bars (Luna, Lara, Clif) when we were really getting into our training for a minimarathon.
Clif's Mojo bars are really good as well as the Luna protein bars. Each is about 180-200 calories, not too bad on carbs/sodium, and are pretty filling. I have a pretty decent appetite, so I also take some fruit and a bag of dry cereal to snack on in the morning.

Hope that helps.

I like Carnation Instant Breakfast Drinks - No Sugar Added (it's the one in the blue box). I like the chocolate, and I mix it with skim milk. It's great!
