Hi, I'm sorry my son doesn't have these, but he did have swollen breasts after he was born. The doctor did say it was hormones...If your doctor said that, it probably is just hormones. Try not to worry too much!
Hi my daughter is 1 year old and just recently I noticed that she had little bumps under her nipples. I called her doctor and she said that they are breast buds due to her hormones and there is really nothing to worry about right now. That I should keep an I on them and let them know if they get bigger or red and irritated. It is really freaking me out.
Has anyone else had this problem before? Will they go away or could something really be wrong?

My daughter developed buds as an infant after we put her on a soy formula. Our pediatrician suggested that (unless she absolutely needed to be on soy) we take her off of it, apparently these changes can be common with soy formula, and permanent genitalia changes can also occur. After we took her off of it they dissipated within several months.
That being said, I have heard that these buds can be somewhat common in infants under a year. With the soy thing, I wanted to make sure it was not due to that so we took her off, but it could have just been normal for her as well and could have been purely coincidental.
My daughter just turned 1 and she had them when she was younger but they are now gone. I also freaked!!! Just watch them
Very good hormone information can be found at www.johnleemd.com including books to read about hormone balancing.
