My son had a similar rash between his thigh and privates. Since he never had a diaper rash either, I didn't know what to think. The Dr. told me it was a yeast infection and gave me a perscription cream for it. It cleared up in a couple days.
I just changed my son's diaper and found a rash in the area of my son's anus. They are like little white blisters about the size of a pin-head, maybe a little larger. In the last week I have noticed the area around his anus was a little red, but I have been airing out his little butt and applying diaper rash ointment. Now, I have noticed that he has little white bumps on it. The rash seems contined to the "crack" and a red line (no bumps) up to his scrotum. They don't seem to hurt him at all and I breast feed him so if this is daiper rash it is the first time I have run into this. Can anyone help me??

It could be a yeast infection. Have you or your son taken any antibiotics?
I would try triple paste- my favorite diaper rash cream and if that doesn't clear it you might have to see your dr. to see if it is a yeast infection.
I was thinking the same thing, lil white bumps in the diaper area usually indicate a yeast infection. Call your peditrician, the first time they may want to check it out, but will set you up with the cream and a few refills because once you know it, you will never forget it. Hang in there, it happens.
It COULD be a yeast infection. If it doesn't clear up call and ask your doctor. Have you had thrush recently, or been on antibiotics? It does sound like a yeast infection, and diaper rash cream won't clear it up. Give your ped a call and see what he recommends for it.
It sounds like a yeasty diaper rash to me. Lots of air and some lotrimin should help clear it up.
Wash him really good then use powder instead of a cream, the powder actually dries the skin out smooth, whereas the ointment can get caught under open skin causing pimples and/or bumps.
Sounds more like a yeast infection. Boys get it too! It's all nice and warm inside...and when they poop/pee...it's wet & moist too. Try Lotrimin AF - found in the foot cream section. My ped always recommends this for yeast. (Butt paste is more for diaper rashes, not yeast). If it's not cleared up in 2 days, see the ped.
Take him in asap, it sounds awful and painful...yikes!
See what the Dr says :)
Like they said... it sounds like a yeast infection. Does he have thrush in his mouth too? Same looking rash on the inside of the cheecks? I know that lotramin did not help when my boys had it. Our pediatrition perscribed Nystatin and it worked like a charm. It did not seem to burn or irritate and cleared it up in just a few applications.
Good luck.

This sounds like an infection, keep an eye on it and if it continues to spread take him to a Dr. I read in your post that you are breast feeding, here is a little known tip about breast milk. It helps cure infections, from ear and eye infections to skin infections. what you may want to try is, express some of your breast milk and apply it to your son's bottom with a cotton ball with each diaper change. This really does help.
BTW, breast milk also helps heal minor burns, and skin abrasion.
Blessings To you

The beauty of my body is not measured by the size of the clothes it can fit into, but by the stories that it tells. I have a belly and hips that say, "We grew a child in here," and breasts that say, "We nourished life." My hands, with bitten nails and a writer's callus, say, "We create amazing things."

I would take your son to the doc. I just had my 5 year old and 2 year old daughters in for rashes on their butts and found it to be strep. Good luck!
Just joining in the choir: Sounds like a yeast infection to me. Would definitely call the pediatrician, since it sounds like it's the first time. My pediatrician had us use Lotrimin AF when we were going through it with our son...But you'll want to make sure that that's really the problem, of course.
