I just recently discovered that Lanolin cream (for breastfeeding mothers) works like no other. It heals, soothes, and protects her little bum in less than 24 hrs and nips any rash in the butt (pun intended =)
Good Luck

The best thing for diaper rash that I ever used was plain ol' cornstarch. It works great and there is no "sting" factor. Just dust their bum with a good thick coat and usually by the next diaper change the rash is gone.

Vasaline and air. I have never had to use diaper cream on my 11 month DD. Part of it, I'm sure, is luck. She seems to have very resilient skin... she does fine with normal detergent, has never had a rash, etc. The rest is that I believe in an oz. of prevention. If I notice my DD's butt looking a little more R. than usual, I will let it air out for a while, then put a layer of vaseline on it. My favorite thing about it is that I only have spent $1.50 on her butt in her entire life. :) I know that this can't be the case for everyone... every baby is different and have different degrees of sensitivity.

My roomate always used A&D ointment on her DD, and it always did the trick.

HER friend breast fed, and swore that dripping breastmilk on the rash, then letting that dry, worked wonders.

We like Burt's Bee's. It works.
Also used Weleda ages ago and liked it. But that was before they took the parabens out and when I saw that I never bought it again.
But like I said they changed the ingredients so I would buy it again now. :)

Weleda Calendula Diaper Care Cream. It's all natural, gentle, and heals incredibly fast. It's around $12.00 a tube, but lasts a very long time.

With every diaper change I put on a thin layer of Vaseline to protect the skin from moisture. I've very rarely had to use a rash cream because of this, but when I have I've used Desitin.

The only thing that worked for my son was Butt Paste. And it smells great, too.

I know Triple Paste works well on my babies' sensitive skin. If you are at all concerned about harmful chemicals I would avoid the popular brands like A&D and Desitin. I am not sure how harmful they are but I am pretty sure their ingredients are not as natural. I don't want to give misinformation so you could Google it. I am going to try the Vaseline though and see how that works on my 1 year old as that seems even less harmful and much cheaper. Also, when my babies have had rashes, I've found that rinsing the wipes really well in h2o or just using h2o on a cloth to wipe baby's bum prevents the stinging and helps the rash go away faster. And making sure bum is completely dry before putting rash cream and diaper back on. Good Luck!

Bordeaux's Butt Paste. My kids have super sensitive skin and get diaper rash from potty or poo and this is the only cream I found that works.

Arbonne hands down. I've tried most of the ones listed below. I had one tube for my first daughter and it last two years. She never had a full blown diaper rash. With my second I used two tubes and she never had a diaper rash. I sell it. I am not bias, I have several clients that use it, love it and would tell you the same thing. If you want some samples I'd be happy to them to you. email me at ____@____.com. Cheers.

Boudreax's butt paste - because it doesn't have whatever ingredient the other's use to turn them white (my son was allergic to that) and it was readily available in most stores.

I liked Burt's Bees for everyday use since it's all natural. But, I also kept Balmex handy for the few times baby got a small rash (at daycare), because it literally made the red go away over night.

Some stuff called Resinol cream. http://www.amazon.com/Resinol-medicated-ointment-jar-3-3/...
You can get it from Walgreens if you ask the Pharmacy to order it for you.
Why? Because it works on ANY rash the family has on any body part and I've got 6 years under my belt of proof. lol
