Yes, I had that same problem... it took a full year to get over the pain when hit just right -- good news though, my second (and third!) c-section was a breeze to get over!
I had my son almost 6 months ago via C-Section. 1 week after I had him they had to reopen the incinsion(SP?) because it got infected. It was opened everyday for 7 days and then it took another 3-4 weeks to heal. SORRY, if any of that grossed anyone out.
So my question is....should it still hurt to lean up against the scar? Ex..If I'm washing dishes and I lean against the counter and hit the scar just right I get horrible pains. Once the pressure is released the pain stops. Also, Sometimes if I walk alot my stomach will hurt right there. Is any of this normal? This is my 1st c-section so I wasn't sure. I've had other stomach surgeries (appendix, gallbladder) none of those scars ever felt like this.
Sorry for the babbling, and sorry again if the 1st part grossed anyone out.
Thanks to everyone that responded. I'm glad to know I'm not alone with the nerve, tingy feeling. I did call my Dr. and he said I have nothing to worry about that everything is normal. I am going to see him though so he can feel on my stomach to make sure nothing is out of place. This is more for my peace of mind. Thanks again to everyone. Your all WONDERFUL!

my scar was tender to pressure for probably a year afterward. it sounds normal, but you may want to just call your doctor to be sure.

Hopefully this will make you feel a little better. I had a C-Section and yes I did feel a little pain for several months when I would lean on it. It definitely was not a really painful thing, but I would definitely classify it as pain. I was about 6 months post when I asked my doc and she said it is normal - just so long as it is only when pressure is applied and it stops when the pressure is off. I do agree with the other comments though that you should still have it checked out by your doc especially considering your past experience.
Hi J.! Sorry for the problems that you are having from your c-section. I have had 2 c-sections now, and I did not experience any pain and/or pressure that far out. I would definately go in and have it checked. Good luck!
The exact same thing happened to me with my first C-Section. I had a vertical incision. It caused a horrible hernia. I wonder if you could have a hernia. Call me if you want, I can tell you about my experience. ###-###-####
Is it the incision or the whole tummy, it took me about 2weeks to feel little to no pain and most of mine was deeper in my tummy than just the incision.
Hi J.,
Well every c-section or surgery is different...my first child...no pain or nervy feelings occurred, however with my second (14 months later) it was very painful. Very nervy (almost to the point of passing out) and even today--almost 14 months later I still have pain/discomfort when I lean onto something or if one of my girls kicks me, etc. The one thing you said that kind of caught my attention is that it is hurting when you walk. Mine is now just when in contact with something else, so that may be reason to call to just be sure. Sounds like you have been put through the ringer...I would say safer than sorry at this point.

I had my c-section 2 years ago. What makes my situation different from the other mom's is that my doctor used something called the On-Cue pump which delivered constant pain meds over a 24 hour period. I had no pain for about 3 weeks, but it slowly became more sensitized and even now I still get a tinge if I bump my incision. I think this is totally normal. You have to remember that you have had not only your skin cut, but also a major muscle and nerves. It takes some time for that to heal and you will feel it. Pain is our body's way of saying that something is going on. Check with your doctor to be sure, but it's probably totally normal, now that the infection is gone!
Hi J. i had two c-sections less then a year apart and expericenced that same feeling. It has gotten better, but I don't think that it will ever feel the same as before having kids. I think it has a lot to do with the nerves and stuff that are cut during the cesarian. i've just learned to live with it, it really doesn't hurt just feels funky. Hope this helps
Mine took a few months to stop hurting and feel back to normal but every once in a while if I bump into something at that level it still gives me a crazy feeling and its been 4 yrs now.
I would say it sounds unusual - you might want to have it checked out by your doctor and if he/she doesn't make you feel better about it, go somewhere else.
J....
I had my first c-section in November and i still feel a tingle when I lean on it or my son is in my lap putting pressure on it. I had "pain" when I would lean on it for about 3 months but now it is just a tingle, but I defiantly know it is there when there is pressure. Hope that helps.
