Our family has unfortunately fallen on very difficult times due to my husbands job loss. I have NEVER been in a position to have to accept help thru Medicaide. We have been working professionals for many years. I need to see a Family Dr. ASAP and I am having the most difficult time finding a good Dr. who accepts this. Can any other Mom out there suggest someone? I don't know what to do and would greatly appreciate any referrals.I will drive anywhere in the Dallas metroplex. I hope someone can help...thank you so very much!

I like Dr Michael Frasier, he is in the White Rock area. I think he might be part of the Doctor's Hospital team. He is very straight forward and my husband even likes him. I love the doctor but, his nurses can be rude at times and I have seen some real wackos in his waiting room. If you are willing to look past that...Another plus is that his office visits are only $65 and he is very understanding of people without insurance. I know you have medicaid now but, as you are trying to get back on your feet there will come a time when you can not afford insurance and you will no longer qualify for medicaid.
I recommend Dr. Daphne Favroth, she takes medicaid and is very friendly. She's in the Richardson area, crossroads near her office are Plano Road and Arapaho. She also opens every 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month, which is so helpful since kids tend to get sick more often on weekends. I have only had good experiences in her office
I don't know about a Family doctor but there is an awesome children's clinic in Plano on 14th near the 1st Baptist Church. They only accept medicaid - and when my granddaughter was on medicaid it was great and consistent care and amazing service (and same doctor).

You can also call the 1-800# and they can help you as well in finding a provider. Also you should have received a couple of books that have doctors that accept your insurance. Good luck mom.
Call Dr. Ingrid Arnold in Mesquite, ###-###-####. She is a family practice Dr. as well as an ob/gyn. Very loving and caring.
I believe that Dr. Les Sandknop accepts Medicaid; however, I am not sure if he is accepting new medicaid patients. Also, Baylor Family Practice in Garland accepts medicaid. They are located at the Baylor hospital in Garland on the 3rd floor.
Hi Joyce,
There's no shame in having to accept help and getting your children on medicaid. It can be difficult finding a good doctor but they are out there.
Call Dr.Johnsons office in Rowlett.
I know for sure they take Parkland medicaid but am not posotive if they take traditional. From what I know about traditional, it's only temporary until you pick a plan and doctor but I don't know your situation so I could be wrong.
Anyhow, if they don't accept traditional, ask if they know of a doctor that does.
If they do accept, then you will be very pleased with their office. It's not just a "medicaid" clinic and it's run a lot smoother than any other clinic I've taken my kids to. I LOVE both of the doctors and plan on taking my kids there as long as their doors are open! : )

There is also a wonderful female doctor there and her name is Brooke, (not sure of the last name, everyone calls her by Brooke) and my daughter usually sees her since she's more comfortable with female doctors.
Take care and again, do not be ashamed of medicaid....be thankful there are resources out there that you can take advantage of for your children during hard times......it's for your children and that's all that matters!
God bless you and your family!
