I also have hypothyroidism. I live in Mesquite, but I use an endocrinologist in Garland. Her name is Dr. Qing Jia, her number is ###-###-####. She is in the Baylor Medical Plaza III building in front of Baylor-Garland. I had surgery last year to remove part of my thyroid and she has been a great doctor. I'm not sure what all insurance she takes, but you could call her to see if she accepts your insurance. Dr. Jia was referred to me by my family physician in Garland.

I have a great OB/GYN at Coit & 15th Street in Plano. She delivered my first child 5 years ago and I am currently 9 months pregnant with my second child.

I used to have Pacificare when I first started going to her so I believe she still accepts that insurance.

Are you pregnant and wanting an OB for that purpose? I work for a wonderful Dr. who is a family practice Dr. We regularly do yearly paps as well as any other needs you have, but if you are needing an OB for a pregnancy then she would not work. Her name is Heather Akins and she is at 15th and Coit in Plano. The phone number is ###-###-####. We do take Unicare. I have heard that Dr. Laveno in the same building is a wonderful OB, but I am not sure what insurance he takes.

Dr. James Powers out of Presbyterian/Plano. The group is called Northlake OBGYN. He is patient, explains and answers questions. He's not a woman like you said you preferred but a great doctor.

I highly recommend an obgyn. Now i know you said that you preferred a woman, but this is a male dr. And his name is
dr. Hyslop.!! And he is wonderful!! My mother goes there and my sister. My mom and i have recommended many ladies to go there and they absolutley loved him! He will listen to you. And try to solve the problem. He helped my mother, she had really bad bad bad menstrul cycles and kept chewing ice all the time! It was out of control. They stuck with her and called her and checked on her until she got better, her diagnosis was that she is anemic, and she didn't know that. But because of him and his wonderful staff she is doing absolutly wonderful, and the problems she had before she no longer has! And he helped my sister! Oh yeah, and my sister kept him back in the room forever asking him all sorts of questions about all the female body and what happens when you get older,every question you could think of she asked and he answered.and it was like when it was there turn to be seen, it was about them! Very professional and respectful. Well i highly recommend him, and i hope you you give him a chance. And please if you do go, let me know how your visit was.
