Princess Dress or Other Dressy Dress

My daughter is having a princess tea party for her birthday this Saturday, and my plans for her dress fell through. Any idea where I can get a cute "princess" type dress for a 5T or size 6? I'd like something a little more substantive than a Halloween costume, although since I'm desperate, that may have to do! Really anything cute, dressy, but not too serious or expensive would be fine. Thanks for your help!

Where to Sell Nice, Non-designer Clothes

I have some good condition women's clothes that are NOT designer that I would like to sell. Three nice dresses, some slacks, some office-type shirts. I cannot find ANYWHERE to sell them. I get no hits off craigslist, they aren't trashy enough for Plato's Closet, and aren't designer so I can't consign them. I would like to make SOME money back because most of them have only been worn once or twice (or are new without tags). I'm not willing to set up a seller's account on ebay. Is there someplace like Plato's Closet but for actual...

What to Do with Stained Clothing

Hello, I am wondering what I should do with my kids' outgrown clothes that are stained? Does Goodwill take stained clothing? These are things that are in perfectly good condition, with plenty of wear left, they just have stains that I can't get out. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.....

New Recipes for Thanksgiving and Christmas

Hello! I'd like to try something different or add something different to the menu for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. I'd like to be able to make it over the weekend to see what the response will be. I don't mind traditional - turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberries.... is there something other than green bean casserole? Yesterday, my husband's office had a green bean dish that he just raved over. Unfortunately, he doesn't know who made it, so I can't get the recipe. He is asking around the office to see who brought it and...

Swaddling Vs. Sleep Sack

Here's my dilemma, my 8 week old does very well with swaddling, in fact, it was a god send for us. Our problem now is that she grunts and struggles (while sleeping) to get her arms free and ultimately wakes herself up. So, you would think that it is time to stop the swaddling and just go with the sleep sack - we have tried that and what is happening is that she is doing the jerky movement thing with her arms (in her sleep) and conking herself in the head - and waking herself up. needless to say - we are in a sleepless household right now....

Toddler Slippers with a Gripper Bottom

Hi Everyone, I am looking to buy some slippers for my 2 year old, but I want ones that have a gripper bottom to prevent her from slipping on hard wood floors. I saw some on One Step Ahead, but these slippers did not get very good reviews overall. Can anyone offer any suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!!

Baptism / Christening ... Almost 2 Yo

We're in the midst of finalizing adoption of our foster child. It's scheduled for mid-October and we have scheduled baptism for early November. I've spent the better part of the day and this evening looking for a christening outfit. This is not easy for older children. All the ones I like (and feel like aren't over-the-top or outrageously expensive) aren't available in the size I need. I found one, but DH thinks they're all ugly ... He doesn't understand, as he wasn't raised this way. I have always wanted my children to wear the same...
