Are you Facebook? Look up Blanket Fairy. She is making blankets, dresses, and stuff for childhood cancer heros.

I would like to donate several bolts of designer fabric to a needy cause. One is a solid shade of soft green vinyl. The others are high quality decorator fabric. Any ideas who could use it??
Thank you so much for all the ideas! Project Linus didn't have a chapter in our area but that would have been my first choice. I ended up calling our local high school and the home ec/art/theatre and fashion design departments were THRILLED to get the donation!! Thank you again!!

You can contact Project Linus and see if they can use your fabric. (Project Linus strives to provide comfort blankets for children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need.) Below is a link for local Texas chapters:

I can think of several places that could use the fabric. I would think a local university that has a costume shop in the drama department could find a use for it.
Habitat for Humanity may have someone on their board that makes curtains or drapes for the now home owners.
You could find a local dance studio, a local community theater group, a school in a rural area where the Home Ec. department teaches sewing and perhaps some student can't buy fabric.
If you have a local LDS church you could call the numbers in the phone book and ask for a Releif Society Leader to call you, if they have a clothing need they will often have someone who can sew make clothes and other items for the homes.
So many ideas, it is really nice of you to want to donate this fabric.
Your local high school's theatre department could use it...

Have you ever heard of Project Linus?
The group makes quilts and blankets for kids/babies in hospitals...
There are lots of Texas chapters!

local highschool or college with sewing / design departments. local theater troupe who does community plays and involves the community. ask at the park district they may do the community plays thing.
Maybe Habitat for the homeless? Not sure if they help furnish the house but if not they may know where to donate it.
Any trade school i am sure would love a donation.
Sewing and quilting clubs
I agree with high school.
My daughter is in a Fashion Design program and most fabric is provided via donations.
Another great use for the fabric is in the theatre department, Art Department, etc.
Project Linus is a great way to donate...
My son was in the ER for about 2 hours once and they still gave him a blanket...I tried to say "save it for a child who will be here longer"...they said "every child gets one".
I love this! He loves that blanket!
Just give 'em to the thrift store and be done with them...if they are in demand they will be bought. Not many "needy causes" need designer bolts of fabric.
Church sewing groups. Check ones in your area.
Another idea is to try Wonder Capes on Facebook or google it.
