Can croup causes rashes in toddler?

My son would get Croup often because of his asthma...now that it is under control I have to say I did notice some little spots around his eyes caused by the pressure of his coughing so hard. Now if the rashes are elsewhere you might want to keep an eye on the meds cause he just might be allergic. I have never heard of croup causing hives but like I said I know my son had the little spots. Hope this helps and your son gets better...I hated croup when my son had it...GOOD LUCK!

LOTS of viruses cause rashes in children ... chicken pox, poseola and hand-foot-mouth disease are three really common ones. I'm sure whatever caused the croup is acusing the hives and he will get better soon... usually the rash is the last symptom to appear before they start to get better. good luck!

My son has had croup a couple of times, and it can definitely cause a rash. It even caused diarhea once! There are so many different types of viruses out there. Doctors can't always explain why certain things cause other reactions.
As bad as it seems right now, it will go away soon and your son will be just fine. Just make sure that he's comfortable - poor little thing!

Yes, it is common to have a rash after Croup. It's called roseola, and it will go away after a few days.

I'm not sure about croup, but viruses definitely can cause rashes. Google is a great rescource to double check on stuff too. My son had a fever (103) for a few days and when it broke, he broke out in a rash on his face and tummy. We had taken him to the Dr and they said it was most likely a virus, but the symptoms were too vague to know which one. Once the rash broke out, they knew exactly what it was (Roseola).
