You can get pregnant anytime you have sex - even if you use a condom and if you are on birth control. Using a condom (or being on birth control) reduces the risk of pregnancy - but the only 100% way of preventing pregnancy is complete abstinence.

Improper use of a condom (like using one that doesn't fit properly, using a condom past the expiration date, not wearing correctly (which can cause the condom to break), or not using it from the very start of sexual activity until after ejaculation can increase the risk of pregnancy.

If you think you may be pregnant, take a home pregnancy test. You can get pregnant even with proper use of a condom.

Definatly! I was watching a ting on TV recently that says something like 65% of people do not use condoms correctly therefore you can get pregnant using them

totally possible. Condoms are only 85% effective (something like that) so if it wasn't put on correctly or if it broke, you could totally get pregnant

Condoms have a fairly high 'failure rate' (which means if you are fertile and have sex with a condom, you can get pregnant depending on several factors). I hope you're not if you don' want to be, but if you are, I hope it'll turn out to be a true 'bundle of joy'!

However, I used condom method most of my life (I am postmenopausal now) and never got pregnant while using it.

You can further decrease chances by using more than one method. That's a reason behind many condoms now coming with spermicide, or women using both sponge with spermicide plus a condom, or even and IUD plus condoms.

Methods and combinations of methods really depends on how critical it is that the woman not become pregnant.

Different methods have higher effectiveness than others. Some women use depot provera shots to completely stop ovulation and periods. Some are scared even with that and still use another method in addition to that even though that is very effective. But when getting pregnant can risk life (either the woman's or the baby's) I guess I can understand using multiple methods.

I would say YES....that is how my husband and I got pregnant with out son.
It was not that big of a deal for us because we were considering starting a family at the time anyway....it was just a surprise.

You most definitely can get pregnant using a condom. I know people that have had a condom break during use and out popped a baby 9 months later. It can happen.

Yes - you can get pregnant from using a condom. There is not a contraceptive on the market or in the aisle that will prevent pregnancy 100%. The condom could potentially break during intercourse. One way with condoms to help boost more prevention is to also use a spermicide - whether it is already on the condom or buy additional spermicide. This is also not 100% but it helps.
