I remember when I was pregnant I remember there being a service that would assist you in obtaining car seats for your children. Does anyone know who that is through? both of my girls are in dire need of new seats and I just dont' have the money to buy new seats ... any assistance in who can be a good referral source is appreciated.
You have to go a fire dept. They will give you a car seat but you have a course last for a few hours.

Hi, you can try to call your local fire department,if you aren't sure how to secure a car seat you go there and they do it for you,they may be of help for you,also call hospitol,or United Way may be able to help you.One of these should at least be able to point you in the right direction.

someone told me once that it was through the police dept. and it was on a first come first serve basis, when they were in. you can try to call them and ask if they know any info on it.

Try contacting your local firehouse. Most of them have programs for car seats, at least how to install and I believe some have a type of assistance.

A couple of years ago, my daughter's preschool gave handouts about free car seats. If you live in Tampa, call The Family Support and Research Center. The one in North Tampa is located at 1401 East Fowler Ave. and the phone number is ###-###-####. They also have other locations. At the time, they offered a car seat safety class that parents could attend and after completion of the class, would provide new car seats. Also, I think you can call St. Joseph's Hospital as they may do these outreach programs as well. Hope that helps!
