I believe oriental trading had some. also you need prizes. if it were a fundraiser, businesses donate things for the big raffle winner.
Hi! I'm throwing a Casino night themed party for my dad's birthday. It's a surprise! I've never done this before, and don't have the budget to hire professional casino party people. So what can I do to make it fun? I want to have a black jack table, and a poker table. Do you think I could mock up a craps table, or roulette, or can you buy cheap knock-off gaming tables? What would you guys do for music/attire/food, to make it really fun and fit the theme (on a budget)?
Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Look into rental places. Maybe you can find some craps tables or roulette tables. Maybe do some drawings for some funny prizes to make everyone feel LUCKY!
Music: Frank Senatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr.
Attire: Maybe go with the era and have everyone dress that way (60's/70's ?) Or go back to the Flapper era (prohibition) and do jazz music.
Food: Mob era - spaghetti and meatballs; Ribs?
How many people are you having????
Party City has an entire casino night party kit :)
I dealt for a casino party service for ten years....pretty easy to do black jack and poker yourself but craps and roulette involve a huge amount of math and would be very difficult without training....have fun!
Another thing that I have seen at casino parties. No one brings a gift, however, when people arrive you give them chips to start playing with. If they run out and want to play further you sell them a 2 sided ticket for $5. At the end of the night the pot, however large it is is split with the birthday boy and the person who ends up with the most chips at the end of the evening. You'd be surprised how large that pot can grow. Lots of people just put in their $5 to go to the birthday boy but also when you realize theres money to be won as well people buy into that. It's a lot of fun and lots of competition and no one has to worry about buying the right thing for a gift.
Can you get the visors and garters and enlist people to be dealers for each station? or have them dress in bow tie and vest with white shirt. I would just put out chips and dip and bowls of salted nuts and goldfish crackers. Maybe serve hoagies if you want something more substantial with cupcakes for hsi birthday cake. You could get them done at a grocery store bakery to look like a roulette wheel or something. A rectanlge sheet cake could be made to look like the Ace of Hearts or the date of his birthday, the 8 of Diamonds or whatver.
