D.D.
I work for a rescue group and it sounds like a vet visit is in order with a stool sample in tow. It's probably worms or parasites both of which are easily treated.
I recently bought a cat from a neighborhood pet store hes 1 yr old and is the cutest little thing ever...any ways since we got him his poop is very very smelly and its yellow and smushy and its very rare but sometimes his poop has blood in it what can i do for his poop to be normal and less stinky?

He needs a check-up at the vet pronto and a sample of his stool brought along for testing. There is a high probability he has some kind of worms or other intestinal parasite and will need appropriate medication to treat. This is not something you can figure out or treat on your own. He should also have a vet check-up to make sure he doesn't have anything else (ear mites, etc.) and to make sure his vaccines are brought up to speed.
I'd take him to the vet. Pet shop animals often come with parasites or even worms. Sorry, he needs to be checked out, and likely needs meds.
:(
Get him to the vet right away. For sure.
But...I hate to burst your bubble, cat poop stinks. There is absolutely nothing to change that.
I like cats. I've had some wonderful cats and loved them dearly, but I'm at a point in my life where I simply cannot take the smell of cats. I've become hypersensitive to cat poop and pee and I can't even be in someone's house if they have a cat box.
That said, the cats can't help it.
Make sure your little guy is healthy, that's the main thing.
I have no advice on the smell factor.
Best wishes.
Yikes! Take kitty to the vet as soon as possible! This is not good news, whatever it is.
Why don't people adopt...save your money....and save a LIFE!!!!!
Get him to the vet tomorrow -- do not wait. Think less about the smell and more about the fact the animal could be bleeding internally -- he should not have any blood in his feces even rarely! He could be very ill. Did you take him to a vet the day you got him or the next day, to have him checked out? Pet store animals often are ill and pick up all kinds of things from the animals in the stores. His poop also should not be yellow or "smushy" as you describe. Remember that humans also can pick up certain diseases from cats so his health is important, especially if you have children in the house. So you must get him to a vet on an emergency basis tomorrow, especially if he has not been to the vet since you got him -- you simply cannot take a pet store's word for it that he is healthy or has seen a vet!
take him to the vet.
Feed him properly.
Asking the vet this.
Make sure he is not sick or has worms etc.
Cats purchased from pet stores are usually sick. It's very very important to get this kitty to a veterinarian as soon as possible. It probably has worms or a parasite. Cat poop ALWAYS smells bad by the way. It's poop.
Added: Amen Casey C.!!!
Have him checked out by a vet asap! Did he have proof of vaccinations when you got him? Good luck!!
