my baby suffered from Reflux, and my other from severe colic. Try good start, and if that doesnt work maybe a formula like alimentum or neocate. Also, I would go to a G.I. specialist. It may be more than the mysterious colic. Dr.Davies is an awesome pediatric GI specialist with Sutter.

New studies recently found that Probiotic drops reduced colic in almost all children within a month (95%). It may be worth asking the doc about. The article was in Parents Magazine, May 2007, page 37. It says “the probiotic in the study, Lactobacillus reuteri, is available without a prescription.” I would definitely talk to my Ped. about whether this is a valid option for my kid. Hope it helps~ J.

We did this with my daughter and it worked. it really calmed her down. I'd put the cooled tea in a medicine dropper. This works so much better than gripe water that is sold at health stores for $12 for a tiny bottle.

My friend gave her son chamomile tea too. He loved it, and it calmed his tummy down.

My mother swears by chamomile tea. With both my sons, when they got a cold, we gave them drops of chamomile. I drink it myself when I get the sniffles. It works!

Neither one of my boys was colicky, so I'm not sure about that . . . though it seems to work for you.

Take Care,

Not sure about colic, but we used it for teething and it seemed to really sooth my daughter through the discomfort- a dropper every hour or two. It is too bad we are reluctant to believe a natural remedy can be effective, but if you are having success with it, do it!

There's several things that I've tried with my colicky baby: chamomile tea, warm compress on the stomach while being swaddled, homeopathic colic pills for babies I found at Whole Foods and Mylicon drops for gas relief and burping baby after each feeding of the breast. I've also altered my diet to avoid dairy products and green leafy vegetables. I have two boys and a newborn. My newborn is the first I remember having colic, so this are methods I found useful.

YES, and it does work my mother told me to give it to my baby girl and it helped her she loved it too I gave it to her in a bottle. doctors say not to give teas to babies but my mother gave it to myself and siblings and we turned out fine. IT WORKS.
